The light on the sprinkes is opposite of the lighting on the candle. Other than that it is a very creative idea!
(5 years and 2684 days ago)Very poor focus - It's hard to make out if it is metal or wood.
(5 years and 2687 days ago)This is a casting, not a carving...
(5 years and 2687 days ago)Bronze statues are poured, not carved...
(5 years and 2687 days ago)Although there are chairs in the photo, they do not appear to be the subject of the image. They are too dark, indistinct, and are not the focal point.
(5 years and 2687 days ago)Great capture, the red of the chairs really makes them the focal point, with the scenic background an enhancement, rather than a distraction. Well done!
(5 years and 2687 days ago)Very blurry.
(5 years and 2687 days ago)The crooked horizon line somewhat weakens the composition.
(5 years and 2687 days ago)Beautiful color and clarity.
(5 years and 2687 days ago)Too bad you cut off the back part - It would have been a bit more powerful if you had photographed the entire body.
(5 years and 2687 days ago)I'd suggest you straighten this image, using the right-hand side of the entrance arch as a vertical perpendicular line. The tilt detracts from the power of the sky.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)The horizon waterline shows a definitely tilt down to the left. If you even out the horizon line, this will be a stronger image.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)The focal point appears to be the building, more than the sky, and the white halo effect around the building further detracts from the supposed subject of the sky.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)You need to adjust the horizontal, as the waterline is tilting slightly down to the left.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)Otherwise, this is a truly beautiful capture.
The downward tilt to the left is a bit too distracting. I'd suggest aligning the tree to vertical perpendicular, but that's just me...
(5 years and 2688 days ago)The dark background, combined with the reflected flash detracts a bit from the overall effect, but the concept is sound, nice composition.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)Wonderfully creative and imaginative, great effort!
(5 years and 2688 days ago)The accordion man has no shadows on his face which is opposite the light source, so he doesn't blend well. The standing figure in the back also shows no shadows on her face.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)Too bad the top of the ear was cut off.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)The skin tones between the face and the body do not match. There is a very slight blue cast to the face that does not correspond to the desaturated body.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)Very stunning capture.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)I would have cropped this so that more of the subject (the sky) dominated the image. The water appears to be the focal point, with the sky almost an after thought.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)Excellent. The subject is beautifully illuminated from behind. You truly understood the contest description and executed it perfectly. Great job!
(5 years and 2688 days ago)It seems a bit out of focus.
(5 years and 2688 days ago)Wonderful composition, with great contrast, color, and balance. Looks like a professional "portrait." Great job!
(5 years and 2701 days ago)Fabulous capture, wonderful focus and contrast, beautiful animal. Very well done!
(5 years and 2701 days ago)How would you "organize" this? Just putting stuff on a bed doesn't really imply "disorganized."
(5 years and 2701 days ago)Where is the number '3' incorporated into the image?
(5 years and 2701 days ago)Fantastic color and contrast, well done!
(5 years and 2701 days ago)Pity the LH corner was cut off.
(5 years and 2701 days ago)Some people are not able to vote or comment until the weekends. If a red flag is VALID, it should not be the commenter's problem that the Moderators did not spot the problem previously. I thought the red flags were to assist the moderators, not do their job for them. To use this as an excuse to allow "bad" entries to remain in the competition is not fair to those who DO follow contest guidelines. An incorrect entry should NOT be "given a pass" and allowed to remain simply because the author can no longer replace the entry. If an entry is not valid for a contest, it SHOULD be removed, REGARDLESS WHEN the determination is made. That is what a Moderator's job entails.
(5 years and 2715 days ago)The focal point appears to be more the sun behind the clouds, rather than the poles...
(5 years and 2721 days ago)While this is a fabulous photo, since YOU did not take it, I don't think it should be a valid entry. Otherwise we could all submit photos taken by husbands, wives, children, etc...
(5 years and 2721 days ago)Sadly, no. The overall "fuzziness" of the photo visually impedes me from making any sort of pareidolia connotations. If I try real hard, I can almost make out a woman in a low cut bodice pantsuit with fiery wings and really big thighs, but even that is a stretch...
(5 years and 2728 days ago)Eyeshadow makeup is not paint...Although you can add water to it, it still would not be paint.
(5 years and 2729 days ago)Stunning work! A lot of effort and talent displayed in this entry!
(5 years and 2729 days ago)Nice composition, but a bit too blurry.
(5 years and 2735 days ago)Very interesting texture, but hard to make out. A high res version would be helpful.
(5 years and 2738 days ago)I don't see any smoke...
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Beautiful photo, I've never seen lichen look so attractive! Great capture!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Interesting, but not enough focus on the blades with them merely "suggested." The brightly lit bases of the knives attract more focus.
(5 years and 2738 days ago)The anatomy of the foot is a bit wonky, but the overall image is quite nice.
(5 years and 2738 days ago)That looks like it would be quite heavy. Wonderful find for the topic!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Beautiful depth for such a shallow object. Very nice photo!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Really nice capture, it makes me yearn to run my hands over it. Very well done!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)One of the better looking "Old Man Cactus" photos I've seen in quite a while - He's beautiful!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Very nice focus and lighting. Good visual texture.
Really nice lighting, gives the photo a very artistic feel. Good job!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Very nice focus and lighting. The leather fringe is especially "touchable!"
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Beautiful presentation, the Food Network would be proud of you!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Wonderful job of creating something totally different from the source, yet identifiable.
