i think adding a ridge along where the face was "removed" would help add to the dimension of the piece. right now, it looks like his face was paper thin.
some softening back on the horizon line would help blend it together as well, maybe use a soft edged eraser set at a 15% opacity just to soften the edge a bit and show some of his sweater through the tree line.
and otherwise, i like it. original concept...the title is suiting. You might think about softening your sunrays back there so they aren't so bold. but thats just a suggestion.

ART comes in different kinds of shapes, colors and forms. I think, "even" if you used a filter or a "bevel and emboss" for your work. I love the blue colors and the outcome of your work. Good luck.

It might be "just filters", but it's an interesting use of them. I like the monochrome with blacks.

honestly its nice but for the contest i dont think that this is the right entry.. no offense i know you know what it takes to win a competition.

Don't take this wrong, but it's kind of like a "plain filter entry". Since there's no (more) rule about posting filter entries, i guess you can do that, but make it more interesting.
You could: use different tonalities of blue, like a mosaique; make a blue dust cloud that swallows the image, make a floating in the sky shack, etc. Make it cooler.

Woooowwww...very good with crops and nice choice to the new background. I think this give value to the final art.

My nontechnical reaction is "blah." In your source pic, the cabin and its immediate environment are brighter/more-attention-grabbing (have a higher dynamic range) than anything in this image. Everything here is uniformly dark with no brighter portion to capture the viewer's attention.

i thought the only part of this that showed the source being used was the umbrella top.
however...when i put it up on high res, i see that you put the shroom caps on the ends of the chairs as well..and the table. you could have blended them better from what i could see, and some of your shadows under the caps are missing. they would cast some what of a shadow since they stick out from the legs of the chair.

Good idea. Stairs definitely need some shadows.

try taking a picture of a moving fish... (or find a picture that hasn't been taken with a quick shutter speed (as the goal is to make it realistic - not what 'we' think it would look like); Analyse the shot, and then transfer your findings into your image (not literally of course)

can you refer me to a link to an actual shot of a baseball being thrown at highspeed with a trail... so that it can dis-prove my comment on that then?...

idea is perfect author as Gopan sad but need bit more works...u could made better transition between stairs and the grass,also perspective of the grass don't fits 100% with the furniture...to bad for that details this could be amazing entry...still i like it and i wish u best of luck
