Congrats on getting first and second!
(5 years and 2503 days ago)Wow, great stuff, perfect.
(5 years and 2578 days ago)Superb! Looks awesome.
(5 years and 2664 days ago)haha, made me smile author. Very good work to. Looks realistic, the blending is excellent.
(5 years and 2762 days ago)Looks cool. I think you have softened the overall image a little too much. It takes a little away from the final image. I understand you did it to blend it better but I do think you went to far and could have left it a little shaper.
(5 years and 2762 days ago)Funny entry author. What I would really liked to have seen would be a realistic version on this. It looks like a filter has been applied over the final image in order to blend it a little better. It would have been very very cool as an ultra realistic entry.
(5 years and 2762 days ago)I love the ivy, I am going to try and use it myself soon. The tap could be a little better but the whole scene looks good.
(5 years and 2762 days ago)Nice. I would love a full set of these cards. Would look awesome. Couldn't play poker with them tho.
(5 years and 2794 days ago)Nice shot, very sharp and a nice DOF
(5 years and 2796 days ago)You could improve this a lot with a simple scene around it. A floor, couple walls. Texture them. Add a sunlight (or your programs equivalent) with shadows on.
(5 years and 2796 days ago)Good work! I am glad someone made an entry for this contest.
(5 years and 2799 days ago)haha, very cute. Good picture.
(5 years and 2882 days ago)You might find a free and good texture here:
(5 years and 2883 days ago)http://www.mayang.com/textures/Nature/html/Fur%20and%20Skin/index.html
I find that rather than trying to paint textures or use procedurals, shaders, etc it is better to use good pictures of the real thing.
The modelling of the hands is really excellent they look great in the SBS. Somehow however the final render loses a lot of the good work. I would say that you need to try and find a better texture or to paint a more detailed one. Then maybe a background and some GI and more of a scene. Also, great work on the rigging.
(5 years and 2884 days ago)Excellent work! I had the same idea, you really pulled it off.
(5 years and 2898 days ago)Wow, this is really good! Well done, I really need to learn Z-Brush for contests like this.
(5 years and 2899 days ago)Very nice work, great image.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)Good work matching the HDR of the image to the other images.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)Nice image, I should go back to the same spot and get a full 360deg version for this.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)haha, this is cool. Good one.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)Good work thinking out the box.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)Very cool. Good work.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)Cool. I really like this concept. I think I might do it with the actual picture.
(5 years and 2975 days ago)Change the wooden material on the door, and also change the projection method. Add a rim to the mat and displacement to the bricks. Also try making the bike yourself if its in your scene. Those are just my suggestions to make this a better entry.
(5 years and 2981 days ago)Great shot, very good representation of the theme. Good work.
(5 years and 2982 days ago)haha, definitely sloth! Very nice
(5 years and 2985 days ago)I get the feeling a few people will choose this one for their model. Mostly this is accurate and a good job
(5 years and 3029 days ago)A Little hint for you buddy, with Anonymity rules in place you need to remove that part of your description and do the same for the SBS. Otherwise this will get pulled. Regarding the work, Its very nice. I like it.
(5 years and 3033 days ago)Isometric Camera, is that why I failed everytime I tried to do one of these?
(5 years and 3094 days ago)cepti. Very cool.
(5 years and 3094 days ago)haha, I found the same image as the one posted by MAD, possibly your inspiration. When you google "impossible" its on like the 2nd page. Good work.
(5 years and 3095 days ago)Stunning! I just wish the high res was a little higher res, would love to see more detail.
(5 years and 3098 days ago)This is really nice. What I would have done if I were you would be to lay a pencil down with the message and add it to the other contest. A much better chance of winning in that one.
(5 years and 3110 days ago)Hey, I was wondering, why was this removed the first time?
(5 years and 3110 days ago)EDIT: Okay I read the contest chatter and figured it out.
Hey Missy, good to see you making an entry, its always great to see your work.
(5 years and 3118 days ago)This is really excellent R1k3r! congrats, excellent work.
(5 years and 3118 days ago)I agree with Rumi, you are one of the best on the site here, plus since you use c4d its a good learning experience for me to see your stuff. You should participate more. Well done genuine!
(5 years and 3118 days ago)Two sides to this one, its an excellent concept with the cards in action. However, as far as the staging, that leaves a bit to be desired. If you could re-shoot with a black background and with the guy without a backpack, would be a really good shot.
(5 years and 3128 days ago)I really love this entry, but you are also totally off theme, metaballs are not simple cubes/rectangles.
(5 years and 3143 days ago)You could just take that out and do just the icecubes but not sure how good that would look.
Really Love it!
(5 years and 3144 days ago)haha really excellent, which I had thought of this. Just remember that each step in the SBS needs to have a short sentence descriptions explaining what is being shown.
(5 years and 3144 days ago)Hrm, as an ex removal man I have shifted a few pools tables before. I can say that those tiny little legs would in no way hold up the table. Even if they were solid steel then the floor would be dented in very much.
(5 years and 3146 days ago)That is my only criticism however since this is excellent work!
Hrm, very interesting genuine!!! Looks like the author has been caught out cheating!
(5 years and 3147 days ago)If this is true than I really have no respect for you at all author.
Hrm, how would the balls go down the holes if they are floating?
(5 years and 3150 days ago)Excellent shot, but you need to read the rules and regs for pxleyes. No frames are allowed in the photography competitions.
(5 years and 3152 days ago)I like the photo a lot, I also think you did some good editing which enhances it a lot. However I wish you had help up a royal flush rather than the 3 cards.
(5 years and 3152 days ago)Yeah that is much better, good work!
(5 years and 3163 days ago)This shot has so much potential, I love the shape of the letters and using the fake eye things. But... The framing is totally off, You should have the whole PXL showing, maybe is you can do the same again with a portrait shot instead. A little contrast wouldn't hurt either.
(5 years and 3164 days ago)EDIT: hrm just remembered that this was probably because of the aspect ratio necessary. In which case... Dunno, Zoom out more. I don't think the contest description means it has to be in portrait rather than landscape?
EDIT AGAIN: It does say portrait
I agree with k5683, the light placed where it is makes it look the like battery is floating which adds to the effect a lot.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)On another note, the high res makes the shot look better when you can see the close up apposed to the standard picture and an even higher res would look totally awesome. Either way I think this is an excellent shot and nice creative thinking.
Congratulations!!! Have a cookie!
(5 years and 3181 days ago)note: cookie is purely hypothetical.
