Now thats cool. Good luck with this work I think it will do well. I like the mud splatters particularly. If I could complain, its just that I like to see a nice long SBS with enough detail that I could follow along if I wanted to. Great work.
(5 years and 3142 days ago)Very cool work here, the concept is what I like the most.
(5 years and 3142 days ago)Ladies and Gentlemen I think we have a winner. If this entry does not place int he top three I will theoretically eat my face.
(5 years and 3142 days ago)Great work on the house, I really the the entry overall yet as for the purpose of the contest. I like the house and scene more than I do the mini, which its not really the point of this contest. Great work nevertheless
(5 years and 3142 days ago)Very cool entry, I like the hippy feel to this. I would have liked to see a double render, this shot of the close up and another from a bit more of a distance at a downward angle to show the surfboards etc.
(5 years and 3142 days ago)this is good work, but just lacks a little bit of that wow factor that the other entries have. But as a learning experience, you did well.
(5 years and 3142 days ago)Very realistic, good work on this piece, I like it.
(5 years and 3142 days ago)haha, I was just on Google looking through images on "movie scenes" for inspiration and saw this image. I recognized it immediately and thought, oooh that &#$% stole a picture. Then realized it was a link to pxleyes
(5 years and 3166 days ago)Aw, I've seen shots like this so many times before.
(5 years and 3166 days ago)Can't believe I did not think of doing it myself!
Not sure how big the background picture you have is, but if you could move the model away from it as much as you can so that the buildings look smaller that would be even better! Godzilla in my mind is as big as 20 stories, but here he looks really little lol. Great concept!
(5 years and 3167 days ago)Congratulations, really nice shot.
(5 years and 3169 days ago)Ah here we go;
(5 years and 3185 days ago)"Keep in mind that we have to remove everything that is considered even slightly off-theme to avoid unnecessary argues after the contest ends."
With the number of members who are commenting saying that this is off theme then at minimum it must be considered "slightly off-theme." Sorry Author, wonderful shot, another contest will come up for it to fit into.
My entries get removed from time to time, and I believe the phrase used by the moderators is:
(5 years and 3185 days ago)"Unfortunately any entry that is even considered slightly off theme by members has to be removed to avoid arguments."
That alone suggests removal of this entry is the right move.
An excellent image. If your looking for constructive critisim however. We are allowed to use spot removal tool to remove dust and scratches. I dont mind at all that there seems to be a lot of noise, I actually like that. But it looks like there is dust in your studio setup and a slight grease spot on your sensor.
(5 years and 3194 days ago)Oh my... I just don't know what to say...
(5 years and 3196 days ago)Alrighty, Sorry Author. I can't argue with the facts lol. Must just be a trick of the eye.
(5 years and 3201 days ago)Pretty cool work, you just entered this so i'm gonna get in quick and suggest that you size down those glasses, they look far to huge in comparison with the book. Other than that little fix, you've got a good piece.
(5 years and 3201 days ago)Oh and before it gets removed, there is a new rules in the 3D area that each step must come with a sentence or two to describe what is happening in that stage, you might wanna add something.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Shiny and nice, I always fail when it comes to making good flames in C4D, i'll have to see if I can get this fumeFX.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Pretty cool, glad it never made it into the masks contest to be honest, it would have been competition for my 1st
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Nice work. How did you achieve that effect on the light? the little stars? Also which contest was this for?
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Now I think that tree is pretty stunning, I like it a lot and think it must have taken a fair amount of work. Then the rest of the scene you've put it into, that could use some work. Just being honest, but to me the tree would be better suited as a bonsai tree, so a small round ceramic pot with a dirt texture, then put it on top of a table with a slightly reflective wooden texture, that would make this entry great. Plus its pretty easy work to create those things.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)This is a nicely finished model, its a little simple in my opinion but thats not really a criticism, i'd just like to see more of your work, see it as a compliment.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Very cute little man, I like the inspiration too. If you want my opinion on some improvements, I would suggest getting a better wooden texture for the floor, perhaps the one you have but with increased titles would work,.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Would have been one of the best and still could be but you need to fix the selection, this is not selective red, the bricks and wall are very brown and yellow, everything should be B&W except the skirt. Lovely picture, hope you get a fix in.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)If i'm not right this could sound really racist, but it really does look like the "spot" she has between her eyes is just a spraypaint brush in photoshop...
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Hrm, does all the red in the picture have to be shown or just some of the red? I think that if you showed off the entire pile to tomato's it would look really cool. Very nice picture either way.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)This is very nice, looks like it was a set up for a photography shoot other than selective red. I wonder what the original intention was? If you could lower the brightness whilst retaining the contrast you might be able to keep the nice black and whites but remove the blow out in the top right.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Very pretty, roses always work best for this sort of contest in my opinion, and I suppose I can let you away thinking that pink is the same as red. lol. But my favourite colour is red, not pink
(5 years and 3207 days ago)Nice image, its kinda simple but in a good way. If you can, try and bump the saturation a little to make the red really bright and vibrant and less, maroonish.
(5 years and 3207 days ago)I think you miss understand SBS, what you have is a couple completed renders.
(5 years and 3208 days ago)Never used Maya, but does it have any form of sky object? If so adding one with simple blue skies or maybe some clouds would be a great idea to pep up this image, the black you have at the moment is ruining the render. If you cannot do it in Maya or dont want to render again I would suggest that you use photoshop and a picture of some sky and remove the black and add the sky, then a blending layer and it would look much better.
(5 years and 3209 days ago)Other than the black, a vry nice entry, good luck
Not bad for a first entry, maybe you could find a rusty metal texture for "Iron"? Would improve the shot a lot. Not sure how different modelling is in Blender either, but a smooth on the base and a bend modifier on the whole thing to curve it and you'd have a much better entry.
(5 years and 3218 days ago)Hrm,,, Inside of a slinky?
(5 years and 3227 days ago)Nice replacement, well done, good luck
(5 years and 3227 days ago)Nice lighting, good shot.
(5 years and 3230 days ago)Beautiful! An excellent image.
(5 years and 3239 days ago)I don.t get it, could you please add a description, as per rules, ". If the meaning of it is not really obvious, you have to explain your shot in the description."
(5 years and 3244 days ago)I don.t get it, could you please add a description, as per rules, ". If the meaning of it is not really obvious, you have to explain your shot in the description."
(5 years and 3244 days ago)Excellent Fish
(5 years and 3244 days ago)Nice but i'm wondering what, if anything, you staged it in, the texture does not look like concrete but more like teflon, i'm thinking that this is a saucepan or baking tray? The straight line cuts that are rusted suggest something of the sort, i'm not saying that there is anything wrong with staging a shot btw.
(5 years and 3246 days ago)You know I quite like the use of SBS's in the photography contests now. Seeing set ups from a different perspective really increases my appreciate, thanks for including that shot.
(5 years and 3260 days ago)haha funny idea, serious dedication to the contest with this piece. Nice work.
(5 years and 3260 days ago)Awesome shot, when I first saw it I had to double take thinking it was actually a 3D render lol.
