Times gone by

Staying in a little shack in Africa, electricity was not readily available, so this oil lamp was a necessity for lighting the rooms at night. Perhaps not such an irrelevance in today's world in the developing countries but in modern areas oil lamps are certainly old school.

As an addition the the photography I would like to add that according to traditional beliefs when an elephant's trunk is pointed upwards that means good things are coming in the future and happiness is relevant and when its trunk is pointing down then negative consequences are likely.
