Really like this, the placement of the wings bothers me a little though - just a bit high.

Author, technically I think you are correct, but it isnt really in the spirit of the contest. I think this is a beautiful image, but the contect isnt called 'edge of plate'

Ive seen this pun used before, but a fun idea and well chopped. The blur on the background is nice

just a quick tip, to make things look more realistic, pay close attention to the light source. Try rotating the objects around and see how it affects the image

ha, nice idea. Just have a look at your shadows though, the shadows under the benches you placed in are very different to the ones for the fence and cows (much stronger and more directly underneath) that will help. Oh and have a look at the light and shade on the cows too

so sad, but a nice find and I like the angle of the shot (all he needs now is a chalk outline)

He is a bit lighter than the other little guys (meerkat's btw Josh), and the masking around his head is a little blurry too. There is a good tutorial around here - puss in boots if I remember correctly, about how to recreate the fur - or you could stick a hat on him ;p

Great effects with her eyes, and his glasses! I see where you're going and I like the concept, but I have to say I would have preferred one big image of the bag scene, thats where the effort is and it deserves more attention!

Author, without wanting to sound harsh, if you have no interest in improving your skills or receiving constructive feedback, then this is not the place to submit your work! Take on board the feedback these people give you - I'll hold off my vote for now to see if you do

I think it all depends on how you define 'materials', is it other materials such as fabrics, or any materials, props or any other OBJECTS full stop - the theme rules should be stated more clearly - perhaps someone can clear this up for us?

Nice job. Can I ask if you thought about trying it with some back lighting? That might give a glow to the top of the flames and remove the shadows - just a thought

I can see what you have done, it almost looks as though you have left the next aged but as you move up the face it becomes more youthful - complete with a twinkle in the eye. Very poetic description in your previous post too, just beautiful!

What a great idea - love to see people think differently but still not lose the point of the theme post. I would adjust the left corner of the pic and dodge in some ligter spots for the highlights though. Oh and consider lightly smudging or blurring the edges just a little, no printing on a clog is going to be quite that precise. Cheers

The colours and lighting are awesome. My only minor critiques are that three of the windmill blades are solid, but the one over the windmill base is not, and the 'bones' on the dragon's wing seem to be a bit opaque.

i completely agree with greymval, you did a great job on the 'northern lights' so have the focus on that. I would go even further and dull the stars a little too.

I like the effect but the realism isnt quite there. Because you have used the same shadows as the daytime photo the lighsource is coming from in the sky on the left (ie was the sun). This doesnt fit with having the moon in the centre of the pic (which btw doesnt quite line up with the reflection of the moon. Perhaps if you removed the moon and gave the sky a slight yellow tinge it might help??

I agree, shrink the plane a little.Also for me, the waves in the water detract focus from the buildings so maybe you could crop the bottom of the image a little?

Very nice, I really like the lighting. Personally I would have focussed on the ghost girl and taken out the spider and faces on the bed but that's just a personal choice. Good job.

This is definitely one of the creepiest entries I've seen. Can I ask if the butterflies have a specific meaning, I can't seem to decide if I think they add to or detract from the overall effect...
