niiicoleyy look at the picture properly!
(5 years and 3138 days ago)Nice job author
Great pic, love the lighting!
(5 years and 3154 days ago)Well I think Dimitris summed it up best so what more can we say?
(5 years and 3158 days ago)Beautiful shot, and a perfect chioce for selective colouring too. Awesome.
This is beautiful. I love the long exposure has made everything soft except for the antenna.
(5 years and 3162 days ago)maybe even try lowing the opacity of the overlayed colours and/or soften the edges, that might help it blend more convincingly.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Wow, you must be a heck of a golfer! And not a bad photographer either
(5 years and 3176 days ago)I think the method of blending is what's wrong with the lemon. The colour looks a bit pasted on. Other than that a really nice job.
(5 years and 3177 days ago)As soon as I saw this contest I was hoping you would submit this. Nice one.
(5 years and 3196 days ago)I guess its easier to look at pictures as potential stock when you have experience chopping them up . I think the keys are a strong subject of focus (which is all in focus), generally avoid anything that is too 'busy' or moving, OOF. I like this one because of the stong lines and various shapes. You could twist this pic in to a number of other objects.
(5 years and 3197 days ago)My personal view on this would be to crop out some of the peripheral objects, such as the care & tree to give a stronger focus on the subject. But this is a better example of stock photography in my view. For inspiration as to what stock photography looks like check out one of rht many pages like shutterstock, sxc.hu. There are a heap of links in the 'resources' tab at the top of the page.
Agree with all above. Well shot, nice composition and subject. Top marks.
(5 years and 3198 days ago)Yep, this is a better picture! The whole shot is better and a lot clearer without the forced close-up.
(5 years and 3198 days ago)the feel of this shot is excellent, the composition is great as is the lighting.
(5 years and 3200 days ago)Yeah, love to see this one in a PS contest. Well done!
(5 years and 3200 days ago)Sorry but he's just a little OOF.
(5 years and 3200 days ago)I think this is a great shot. Love the DOF too. From a photography standpoint this is really good, just personally I'm not sure that this is a great example of stock photography.
(5 years and 3200 days ago)I really like the lighting in this shot.
(5 years and 3200 days ago)This is a cool shot, nicely done.
(5 years and 3200 days ago)so many comments about seeing this stuff before, but it is not that easy to make the positive space into negative space, the lighting and tone has to be spot on to look convincing, and this one does. Nice job.
(5 years and 3203 days ago)well thought out, well shot. Well done!
(5 years and 3205 days ago)I like the DOF with the other cupcakes in the background. With the one up the front, to me it feels like the cupcake army....
(5 years and 3205 days ago)...aaaaarrgh, they're after revenge for the cruel deaths of their ancestors..... run...
one more tip though, the mods here are big on anonymity, so using the same comment/description on multiple entries is not advised as it clearly shows it is the same author. Might want to edit those too Cheers,
(5 years and 3205 days ago)If you're driving a Lexus, you can afford the four bucks
(5 years and 3214 days ago)Nice shot though.
Hey well done Bob! I hadn't seen this until it popped up on the winners section - thanks for the tribute!
(5 years and 3217 days ago)haha, funny description... and here I thought is was a baby with an old guy's head on it
(5 years and 3219 days ago)I agree completely with Steve, but in this shot I dont mind the little bit of glare. It's not overwhelming and you can still read the heading on the ticket which is the important part. Nice job.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)I just voted... I knew it was you! I'm picking your work by style now . Well done again!
(5 years and 3221 days ago)I love it, as I am scrolling through the pages of latest entries, I see this and my first thought is - what an amazing photo... of course I see it is a chop after looking for a few seconds, but a great first impression means you have achieved a wonderful piece here.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)Your dedication to getting a good and unique shot is unquestionable. Well done yet again.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)Funny, a bit creepy, and well blended... ticks all the boxes for me.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)I don't know that I agree with you Josh, if you look at the text at the back of the ticket, it is clearly OOF. It is subtle given the size of the subject, but I think it's a good submission.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)This is great, your little friend must be very placid to let you pose them like that. Just a great result (and I like that he/she's reading a photography book too)
(5 years and 3221 days ago)Really nice job, those eyes are creeping me out though!
(5 years and 3221 days ago)Beautiful sunset
(5 years and 3221 days ago)I like this shot, the setup and the DOF are particularly nice.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)Very close... and very well done too!
(5 years and 3223 days ago)Absolutely close enough IMO, and a beautiful shot, the black b/g really brings out the colour of the flower. Nice one.
(5 years and 3223 days ago)This is a really unusual flower, do you know what it is called?
(5 years and 3223 days ago)They are nice, I like the white on white in this shot too.
(5 years and 3223 days ago)unfortunately your focus is more on the smaller flowers at the back of the shot. Also try bumping up the colour/contrast a bit, it will make those pretty yellow flowers stand out.
(5 years and 3223 days ago)this is really nice, such a shallow DOF. You can really see the texture on the leaves, I would have LOVED to see a high res... hint hint.
(5 years and 3223 days ago)I see you have changed the pic, but unfortunately you still have the same issue with this one The leaves at the base of the plant are in much clearer focus than the flower itself.
(5 years and 3226 days ago)Nice choice of B&W, reall shows of the texture of the petals. Very clear and well shot too.
(5 years and 3227 days ago)A wonderful choice of flower to shoot from this angle. Nicely done.
(5 years and 3227 days ago)This shot would be better if the focus was on the flower and not the leaf.
(5 years and 3227 days ago)Great subject choice, and a perfect DOF
(5 years and 3227 days ago)Yep, the pink against the almost flat green b/g works well. Nice.
(5 years and 3227 days ago)Well that certainly is a closeup. Fantastic detail on the centre of the flower.
(5 years and 3227 days ago)I feel bad critiquing a shot that you love so much, but I can't help but feel this would be better if there was a stronger focus on the flowers in the foreground. This shot does have a nice vintage feel to it though.
(5 years and 3227 days ago)This not a bad photo, but try to play around with it a little to make it pop more (try curves or levels adjustments in PS). Also, crop off the bottom of the pic to get rid of that black corner, I dont think it adds anything to the shot, and is distracting.
(5 years and 3233 days ago)Nice job, the only thing I would suggest would be to desaturate the house a little more. The yellow is still quite vivid, and it wouldnt be this bright in low light.
