Cool, missed that detail - thanks for the catch Amanda! Nicely done author.
(5 years and 3309 days ago)Looks on theme to me, and a cool effect!
(5 years and 3309 days ago)This is a great shot. I love the lighting on the oil and the bottle. One small critisism is that I find the streak of light on the pepper mill a little distracting
(5 years and 3309 days ago)This is one shot where I'd prefer a larger aperture and less cropping , but very nicely done,
(5 years and 3309 days ago)Nice idea, and I like the addition of the sunglasses, but it is not in focus enough
(5 years and 3309 days ago)I like it, nice job on the helmet visor.
(5 years and 3309 days ago)Good find, this is very nicely done.
(5 years and 3310 days ago)Love the simple setup, great choice of location, the texture on the walls works perfectly in this image.
(5 years and 3310 days ago)Clear shot with a nice focus, but is that a padlock in the background? Can you tell us how that fits the image... what's the story you're trying to tell?
(5 years and 3310 days ago)A nice attempt, but for me the focal point is not the part that stands out on the page and draws the eye (that being the large text at the bottom of the screen). A little larger area of focus might be nice too (imo of course)
(5 years and 3310 days ago)Sorry but this looks fuzzy and kinda hurts my eyes
(5 years and 3311 days ago)I can see how some consider this luxury, but I just see overcrowding
(5 years and 3311 days ago)I agree completely, and that table at the top of the stairs adds a great point of interest to the shot too. Nice one.
(5 years and 3315 days ago)Very nice lamp, I'd crop out the light on the right though, it is a little distracting
(5 years and 3315 days ago)reminds me a bit of the fertility process
(5 years and 3315 days ago)If I may, I think the issue with this image is that there is nothing that really draws attention in, especially when competing with such a strong background.
(5 years and 3315 days ago)If you look at the objects on the left wall, it drags your eye down, and the thing that stands out the most is the red tassle (which leads the eye down and out of the picture).
I hope you don't think my criticism is too harsh, but I think you could work on the composition a little more.
... or is it a fantasy realm with really large plant life?
(5 years and 3315 days ago)I have to disagree with you on that one fallinghorse, if you do that you will lose the pillars of the bridge which give some further interest and structure to the photo imo.
(5 years and 3315 days ago)oh it's a "copylock' or is that a lockycat??
(5 years and 3315 days ago)Either way this is nicely done author.
I see what you're trying to do here, but the reason it does not look very convincing is that the perspectives dont match. The path rises much too steeply when you compare it to the ground in the source pic.
(5 years and 3315 days ago)Cool, how did you get this, was it a long exposure and then you toppled the stack at the end?
(5 years and 3317 days ago)Unfortunately nothing is really in focus here.
(5 years and 3319 days ago)Personally I thisnk this is too recognisable as coming from the same shoot as your other entry. The other one is the one to keep in the contest IMO.
(5 years and 3319 days ago)This is a grerat shot. Love the aged cards!
(5 years and 3319 days ago)Fallinghorse, I think the effect you are looking at is a result of dramatic contrast adjustments. That caught my eye too.
(5 years and 3320 days ago)Dude relax, I have no problem with your friend, I'm sure he's an awesome guy. I just meant it takes away from the photo to have someone else in the background trying to take a shot too, but that it was lucky you could use such a shot for this contest.
(5 years and 3320 days ago)I hope you continue to be good friends and enjoy many wonderful dinners together at Hard Rock Cafe!
Wow, this is really effective, and I like the choice of background too!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Great capture, love the almost sepia tones. I wouldn't be swinging that axe too much if I were you though!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)I love it, unfortunately my wife would never condone such a shot so I'll just have to admire yours.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Very crisp capture, nice timing!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)really, I thought he was doing the 'walk like an Egyptian'
(5 years and 3321 days ago)no chance of that here, no room in the freezer, and with 80 degrees F outside, I don't think anything's goung to freeze
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Yep, really nice now. GL!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Truly creepy, so well done! This is a great example of this theme, I think you'll do very well with this one.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Lucky for this contest, but you'd be a bit annoyed if that was the only chance you had to capture the little guy, and you had Mr Squinty as your backdrop
(5 years and 3321 days ago)What is the size/resolution of your original image? It looks pretty pixelated even in the small view so I dare say this is as 'high res' as it gets...
(5 years and 3321 days ago)two contest entries in one shot .
(5 years and 3321 days ago)great job. So much clear detail with 100% contrast is a very nice acheivement.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)a little too much noise, but a nice shot.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Nice crisp shot, and a great choice of angle.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Love it.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)This is a great shot, love the symmetry. Well done!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Cool sculpture, a shallower DOF or different angle would have been nice though, the busy background detracts from the object of interest.
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Just lovely!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)I love the image, very elegant, but this clearly has a lot of grey in it (if it was all white the whole leaf would just be one white shape - which would probably still look nice).
(5 years and 3321 days ago)That light is very effective, and this is a very high quality shot. Because of the science-fiction type vibe to this shot as Cocor said, I think you could also try this shot with a really wide (scared looking) eye too!
(5 years and 3321 days ago)Great job.
Nice job overall, some very good points made above. The only thing that concerns me about the composition is that the little child is right under the monsters head, yet seems to be looking off into the distance rather than up at its face.
(5 years and 3323 days ago)not hard to find the source, but it is well blended.
(5 years and 3323 days ago)very surreal, I really like the oveall dark feel, and it's well put together. The talons look great.
(5 years and 3323 days ago)I love this. Nice original take on the theme, and the lighting and tone of the shot work really well. Top marks from me.
