I wouldn't confess to that, Id say something like... 'I applied dark makeup to highlight my lashes, then deliberately overexposed the shot to blow out the highlights and draw attention to the subject of interest...'
(5 years and 3324 days ago)hehe
I have a comment, I really like it!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)I love that you left a bit of the land in shot to emphasise the height of the rider.
Better now. Nicely framed shot, but this would just be so much nicer if it was a crisp shot of the bird without the motion blur.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)I agree, and the perspective of the fallen microphone is off a little too. Might also want to add a little shadow under the hat, but other than that I love what you've done with the little guy.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)I bet it's nice to have such a committed fan... even if they do have trouble spelling your name!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)Nice grungy look to it with the lighting.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)A great find, and a very good result too.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)You said it Mikael, they are stunning!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)ahhhh, I see it now!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)Love the worn look on the rope. Very nice find and well taken.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)They are some nice looking eyes. If you could somehow shoot it without the spots from the ceiling lights, this would be great!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)There is a clear line between where the insect stops and the giraffe neck starts which makes it less convincing, they don't quite match in size or colour either.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)Yep, looks heaps better. Nice job!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)I love it! Well done
(5 years and 3325 days ago)Love the title!
(5 years and 3325 days ago)That is fantastic, the perfectly blue sky gives a great backdrop. Wonderful timing too!
(5 years and 3325 days ago)I agree with Bob, you have done well with the head, so just apply the same technicques to the hands and it'll look great.
(5 years and 3325 days ago)I see a whole lot of chops that try to look like photos, now we're seeing one the other way around
(5 years and 3325 days ago)In high res the focus is not quite as sharp on the hippo as it could be, but kudos to you for patiently waiting the the shot!
(5 years and 3325 days ago)This is cool, the effect on the hair is brilliant. Nice framing too.
(5 years and 3325 days ago)A high res would be nice so we can check out the details, but all I can say is... OUCH!
(5 years and 3325 days ago)I'm sure once you explain it it will be obvious, but right not I just cannot figure out what this is! :-P
(5 years and 3325 days ago)Not a bad job, but you need to look at the shadows. They are projecting at different angles, and the shadow on the cube doesn't quite work
(5 years and 3325 days ago)ah dang it, I was going to do the peacock thing
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Nice job.
Love it, the contrast on the zebra works perfectly. Nice composition too.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Well it is beautiful. I think this would actually make a nice print.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Love it! Hopefully you got some tight shots of the waterfall too!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Thats cool!! Just a question for you, did you take the image, invert it and then adjust the contrast?
(5 years and 3329 days ago)A fine example, and a nice subject too, very interesting.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)You might get some critisism for the really harsh shadows, but I think it adds to the emotion here. Nice job.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Personally I would crop out the plasticine as it is a little distracting being bright green. Nice crystal though, what does it look like with a bit of light shining through from the back?
(5 years and 3329 days ago)I know a few Geology geeks who would love this one! Nice find.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)I think a change in direction of your light source (more to the side) would have helped to bring out the natural curves and lines of this piece though.
Thanks for sharing, I think most people will agree that you've made the right decision there. There are plenty of us nice guys in the world
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Ahh I see it now! My comment looks a bit silly now
(5 years and 3329 days ago)What I might suggest then is trying to create a little more depth to show the distance of the old drawing and the photo. You could do this bu adding a shadow from the paper and hand, or adding a slight amount of blur to the photo.
I love the colour and shapes of the decorations, it is a bit of a shame that the man is in a dark shadow and lacks definition though.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)I like the idea, but my questyion is if you are ripping the picture, why would her face still be underneath but in B&W? Perhaps it would be more effective to have her face blank and maybe an inverted (mirror image) of the smiling face on the back of the torn piece...
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Whoa, this is a trippy image, really attention grabbing. I like it.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Not aq bad job, I would have loved to see more light refracted through the droplets though.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)I think you have done a good job in getting some strong lines of colour in this shot, but you need to look at the composition a little more. Perhaps a tight crop to get rid of the background and focus on the 'rainbow' woulw work. Maybe have a play with rotating the image too.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Great job... it's Waz in battle mode! hehe
(5 years and 3330 days ago)I like what youve done here, made your own stargate . Nice one.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)I wonder if this was the source of inspiration?

A tiny bit dark for my taste but still a nice job.
Well this is beautiful. I really like the effect you have created, and by drawing most of the elements yourself you have created a contrast with the gates and really made them stand out. Lovely work!
(5 years and 3330 days ago)I understand this was probably a really quick capture, but the focus should really have been on the guy in the forground.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)@ Mossy, I can see what you think is a horn, but if you look at the high res, it's actually part of the background, not atached to the horse.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Nice original job here author. GL!
Nice job (on the list and the photo), and you can stock up on stuff cheap 'cos you shop at ALDI.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Oh and Josh, he might not need ice, most of us own refigerators, hehe
haha Slushie, I was thinkin' the same thing, though my remark was not going to be that clever :P
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Very colourful andinsanely cutsie, but nice (and it did make me smile just a little)
Welcome, and a really nice first entry. Nicely done in bringing out more depth of colour than was in the source image.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Unfortunately just a little OOF
(5 years and 3330 days ago)You need to view the high res to appreciate this one. Nice DOF on the crystals, I can't help but think a slightly stronger source of light would have helped to add more depth and shine to the subject though.
