(5 years and 2682 days ago)hmmm wondering what happen to my last comment... anyways...u don't neccasarily need a "fast" lens. If you shoot at say F8 and a shutter speed at say 1/125 (guessing, adjust iso to fit) you should get a good blurr effect, and enough DoF to get the whole player in focus if he switches plains on you or is coming toward you. If you shoot through the fence you won't be able to use a 50mm without getting the fence "lines" in the shot. then you just have to shoot at a higher s.s and a lower f stop like 2.8 if u have a fast lens to do so.
