Ummm...last time I saw this it was a 2 headed monkey. Might be good to change the title, no?

On a more personal level I think the entry is great though.

Please if you're going to argue my comment at least try not to agree that I'm right. It's a fruit of a plant, not a plant in itself. Your entry represents a carnivorous fruit, ... Where is the plant?

From the contest description: "Imagine any sort of plant that could eat people"

If you argue that a cherry is the product of a plant, then your entry should really focus on both the plant and the fruit. for example, the cherry is the fruit that leads unwilling prey into the jaws of the plant. That kind of approach would have been more in-line with the contest goal IMHO.

It's less a plant and more a fruit by the looks of things.

areas for consideration... where you're lower right bird intersects the fruit: you can see through the bird; I'm assuming it's in front?
