PS. I'm not sure but to me it seems that it's quite bad quality, don't know if you can't render higher quality stuff because off your machine but to me it seems like your user name came out kind of blurry. Fix that and you have an awesome entry!

Good Attempt It always makes your drawing look far much better if where is very little white gaps which have no tone in them.. Unless the white is meant to be light what I'm suggesting is maybe do some cross hatching to fill up the white gaps and get some more shading into it Hope this helps Good Luck!

Personally I don't think there is anything bad about it. It's a step forward in the human race and knowledge. It's a personal choice that people make.. I know for a fact I would never do it but everyone has their own choice.
Coming back to the Photoshop side of things I think you managed to get your point across quite well. IMO maybe make the text stand out a little bit more or change the font. I don't know it just doesn't work for me. Good Luck!!!

The ball is not blended properly.. It is not a perfect sphere shape. On the bottom left it looks like you've missed a bit and like there is a dint in the ball.. Good luck though
