it appears to be a floating candle, therefor I would think the glass necessary part of the arrangement to contain the water? any other thoughts?

author, a better presentation would do justice to your favorite collection...something other than just setting them on the floor and shooting down...stand them on edge and shoot down the line or in a spiral....anything, play with the angles a bit

The flash is a bit harsh, try bouncing it if possible or hold a white piece of paper in front to act like a diffuser...it may help in the future
