Great photo for a "snap" author....well done

EDIT: now seeing who the author is...I'm now CERTAIN it's not a fake...they wouldn't do that IMO...

I believe the term for this is "telephoto compression", it makes distant and close object appear "closer" together, also known as the telephoto-effect...a high quality tele-lens will most certainly get that level of detail on the moon if the proper exposure is used. IMO this appears genuine as I have seen other examples of this type of moon shot on other sites that specialize in asto-photography. some of the space shots pulled off by "normal" cameras is astounding...

agree w/ kryicom...unlesss the magazine was necessary for the shot, it should have been removed as it distracts from and otherwise perfect pattern...remember to really check your viewfinder before you click author, otherwise nice eye

I'm not seeing the entire image OOF...just high ISO noise mainly, the top and bottom are oof probably due to shallow dof but center appears as ISO noise. (Just my opinion.)

I'm going to have to agree w/ kyricom and friiskiwi, a bit too much of a stretch to get a letter out of an otherwise beautiful photo, I might have saved this for a different competition...

I might suggest cropping a bit off the bottom to bring more focus to the letter and it looks a bit "jaggy" in hi-rez, but good perspective

Sorry author, but I have to agree, just because an image CAN be entered, does not mean it SHOULD be entered...save the "snaps" for flikr or myspace and try your hand at entering some great images for competition...look through the old contests to see what has placed in the top 7 and take that as a good idea to what you should enter author...

Author, I agree with Ade and will offer the following...read the guidelines of every contest CAREFULLY, just because an image CAN be entered in a contest...doesn't mean it SHOULD be entered. ( I learned this one the hard way at first!), the worst comments are NO comments at all, take into consideration that this is an international site and being such, some comments that appear rude are simply a language barrier thing (at times) and welcome...I hope you do well here...

very nice, the only suggestion I can offer is perhaps a greater DOF by shooting at like f/22+ to get the entire photo in focus.

sorry author, but have to agree with above comments...very blurry and oof, the idea and theory are very sound but the execution could be much better

Nice angle, but I find the focus more on the plants than the fence because of the shallow DOF...A greater DOF would have made this spot-on.
