Awesome effect, the money seems to come out of the monitor...well done
(5 years and 2730 days ago)very cool, I agree, near perfect...it works very well...nicely done author.
(5 years and 2730 days ago)Nicely done Author...looking in the hi rez, the mouse cursor seems to float in front of the mountain.
(5 years and 2730 days ago)It appears to work to me, not perfect, but, the effect is there, the ferns in the front and the building show decent depth.
(5 years and 2730 days ago)Very well done author without the adding outside sources...very clever and original
(5 years and 2734 days ago)You got it now Author, nice shot...Good Luck in the contest
(5 years and 2735 days ago)Nice title and set up, well done author
(5 years and 2737 days ago)Nice image author, might I suggest cropping just a bit off the top of the image...the solid black there I feel does nothing for the over-all balance and it would bring the focus better on the look out the windshield.
(5 years and 2737 days ago)Wonderful entry Author, nice use of fill lighting for a very well balanced image.
(5 years and 2737 days ago)No problem Author...my pleasure, I have very much enjoyed watching your portrait photography grow over the past year...you have a definite gift and your subject choices and lighting are a pleasure to see. This is the very point of this site...I so very much (after 3 years here myself) like seeing the growth of photographers in their field.
(5 years and 2737 days ago)Wonderful pose and lighting, just a small observation, it's a bit soft in the focus and a bit grainy...otherwise, very nice work. Well Done Author!
(5 years and 2737 days ago)Stunning...wonderful entry author. beautiful tonal quality and pose...great lighting, very natural...great work
(5 years and 2737 days ago)Well...to tell the truth, I'm a bit of an outdoorsman, and the indication that a snake is poisonous with just a look is the eyes...round pupils like a dog or human is non-poisonous and pupils similar to a cat (narrow and tall) indicates a poisonous snake...just FYI. Altough, many people choose (rather wisely) not to get close enough to do an eyeball inspection...LOL
(5 years and 2737 days ago)Yep...a rat snake...non-poisonous, but...they will strike and bite your face...LOL nice shot author, most people fear snakes very much, so to get this close, I'd call that an on-topic shot. Well done.
(5 years and 2737 days ago)I'm there...LOL...no fear!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)...thank YOU!, but...simply put, good work IS good work, you did VERY well here...congrats!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)EDIT: The borders don't seem as important here in this image on second thought, as the colors (blue/brown) tend to create a decent separation of the images...
Well done Author, very nice entry...great pose, original shot, the tonal qualities are spot-on and the glasses just make the image...I really like this. Any one of my clients would be happy to purchase a portrait like this...
(5 years and 2738 days ago)The SBS is excellent also, simply wonderful work
Much better Author..NOW it looks like you took a larger 'risk' for the shot...comp and balance are good too, Good Luck!
(5 years and 2738 days ago)NICE!!! well done author.
(5 years and 2738 days ago)I would recommend that...remember, the images are being voted on by not only 'quality' but the perceived 'risk' in taking them...that is the contest.
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Interesting take on theme, the sign says "pesticide in use", but....you seem a relatively safe distance from the facility. And nearly all food producing farms do the same thing, all the produce you buy (99%) has been laced with pesticides...you still eat, right? Just an observation...
(5 years and 2738 days ago)Looks like fun...author, why not a shot WHILE doing it? Now there's a winner
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Actually, for shooting B&W, I prefer harsh sun, it gives a bit more contrast...hence the authors choice for mono here..
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Great colors, feeling and action...wonderful shot author, it just "feels" fun...
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Wonderful shot and BG, if only a bit of eye contact with the subject here...That would have really made the shot IMHO
(5 years and 2739 days ago)With a dress so very amazing, personally...I would have found a MUCH better area/background and theme to shoot it in Author...not often you see a wedding dress like this anymore...too bad you didn't make the best of the opportunity
(5 years and 2739 days ago)(Just my opinion as a wedding photographer)
Good Luck in the contest never-the-less.
Not on topic? I'm also curious as to why you think that...I think the shot is wonderful and completely within the guidelines and spirit of the contest.
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Again Author...attention to details...makes a difference...do you check your entries AFTER you upload them? Just curious...
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Too bad it's sideways, maybe would have scored a bit higher Author...
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Attention to details, makes a difference...
Interesting composition, and nice shot....Just a 'nit-picky' thing? I might have chosen to crop just a tad off the top to just where the hair meets the forehead...leaving just a sliver of black there. This move would better fit the "golden rule" of composition and might make for a more interesting composition...
(5 years and 2739 days ago)Otherwise, nicely done author...I really like this.
It's OK author, very fine job indeed never-the-less...just merely and observation...At least the bokeh is perfectly on-target! well done! And THANK YOU for providing the most excellent SBS...what a wonderful addition.
(5 years and 2740 days ago)DOF is a bit shallow in the hi-rez Author, but, all-in-all, a pretty good shot, nicely done, cute too...Good image and title.
(5 years and 2740 days ago)Very beautiful Author, wonderful place from all the photos I've seen, hopefully I can get a few days there to spend myself someday...
(5 years and 2740 days ago)Nice mix of overall and detail shots....very important...great exposures and inclusion of other people since this is a rather popular area in the US.
My only (rather nit-picky) suggestion is...maybe a small border between the images so they don't "mush" together? Thats just a personal preference though...Nicely Done
JOKING???? Heck no! Gooey Ducks...YUM!!! I could spend a fortune here author, great find...now gimme a map so I can do some shopping! LOL (followed by an intense Grilling & gorging session!)
(5 years and 2741 days ago)Nicely done author...very good indeed.
(5 years and 2741 days ago)What? And level the playing field?!? I think not...LOL
(5 years and 2742 days ago)If you ever feel like sharing you post-production techniques Author...I'm just a PM away
(5 years and 2742 days ago)Wonderful entry...love it. Set-up and lighting is spot-on, the balance and overall feel is wonderful...
nicely done, good set-up and lighting...wonderful entry author
(5 years and 2742 days ago)Very little bokeh here author, just a tad in the top right corner...perhaps you may want to re-shoot this entry for something a bit better?
(5 years and 2742 days ago)When you are resizing you image in Photoshop or something similar, pay attention to your your pixel/inch count...sometimes it will default to a low number like 72ppi that will make a soft image as too may pixels get 'tossed' out...to keep an image sharper I usually stay in the 150-240 range and you ge a nice crisp hi-rez without going over the 5 MB limit
(5 years and 2744 days ago)pretty cool...I'd buy that! LOL
(5 years and 2744 days ago)For sale? or just a decoration in a pub?
(5 years and 2744 days ago)Actually...pretty cool, good for when you run out of matches...unless it's cloudy or night
(5 years and 2744 days ago)Congrats...what a wonderful shot and well deserved placement...well done
(5 years and 2745 days ago)@ dem90....if the author chose to do selective editing, yes...it would maybe have made a better image, but! it's aganst the photography rules here and if found by one of us Mods...the image would have been removed...
(5 years and 2745 days ago)@ Author, fine image and entry indeed....well done IMHO, and bonus points for choosing to do the 'right' thing and stay away from violating the rules of the site as a trade-off for a slightly 'less-than-perfect' image...As far as I'm concerned...this is a great image, I favor very hi-key and low-key photos, this is a great example of hi-key portrait.
Superb entry Author, well done, well shot....Great lighting and make up...and a BIG thank you for providing an SBS as well...
(5 years and 2745 days ago)Great lighting, wonderful image in B&W... truly a classic image. great work author
(5 years and 2745 days ago)I believe it's a tulip...but it's a very nice image..
(5 years and 2745 days ago)Wonderful shot...I like how you included the people in the shot instead of just the average 'just the view' shot
(5 years and 2745 days ago)That would have been me...
