Perhaps you should have chosen to crop...the missing parts are very distracting to an otherwise spectacular image Author...

Welcome home

Nice white/white....very well done with the lighting to bring out the detail. Good entry, Good Luck...
Although...I I yet to find the Twizzlers in the shot?!? A set-up snack perhaps? LOL

DW, I beg to differ with you...I think this shot is perfectly on topic as it is obvious they are at a racing track due to the formation of the cars and the barrier fence...The fans are as much a part of the experience as the cars and as long as the shot includes the race, seems fairly logical to me it should be on topic. A random shot of a crowd, no, as it could be any event, but again, this is clearly a motor-sports race..

This is nice, but, personally I would have removed the debris (sticks and stuff) from the foreground as it very much distracts from the model...

WoW...just...WOW!...love this. The composition is spot on, the tones are wonderful and it's almost like they posed for you. I love the eye contact you captured with the young one....just a top quality entry. Good Luck author.

Victim's of war are not aggressors...not solders...lavenderflower23, think before you comment...these people did not by all means cause a war or fight in it for whatever reason, they were definitely "INNOCENT" civilians...

I cannot imagine what these people went through, I was a voluntary combatant in a time of war, but, that was my choice...

Innocent victims of war

I think personally this would be better in B&W than sepia toned...sepia should be reserved (IMHO) for period photos, like old west and such...I enjoy the composition and subject, but maybe this is not perhaps the best treatment for this subject?

Funny, the dog has that "WTF?!?" look going on...mine would have chewed the cups, ate the chips and sat there saying, "Thanks dad for the play-time"

Author...can you explain the strange patterns in this image?....it appears to be a bad scan, and if scanned, from where?

(5 years and 2883 days ago)

avatar UncleJimmy

Wonderful idea and not a bad attempt...the image is very well organized and has a story or concept but lacks "WOW"....in the future, try a lower angle perhaps and try to avoid centering everything...read up on the 'rule of thirds' and work on you composition a bit, but otherwise, I really enjoy this image.

What

I can tell, the shoulder of the bird is in the lower right corner...its dark colored indicating the back of the bird, these are lighter colored in the front...it's facing away and looking back

I like the idea, and the result with the exception of the upper arms...where the elbow breaks appears a bit un-natural and curved...if you could fix that, it would be an awesome image.

Really Author, I just don't know what to add but another "wow"...

Fantastic shot, the angle of the light creates a wonderful leading line to the subject, the composition is spot-on, the blackness surrounding the subject and the pose create a wonderful story-telling image...

what is he doing? where is he? why is he there? is he in solitary? is he in pain, torment?

The viewer involvement and imagination are wonderful. Simply top notch work Author! This has to be one of my all time Fav's

Wonderful colors and composition author, well shot and good entry! My only suggestion is to crop out the partial tree on the right of the photo? I find it a bit distracting, but, others may not..Love the just "Green" of the whole image though...

So mossy...fog or smoke isn't fog or smoke because it's not just water (H2O) vapor? As a firefighter and smoker...I happen to know that fog, smog and smoke are normally made of several hundred products of combustion, no matter what the source...does it sincerely matter? Does it warrant such a response? IMHO, NO! The effect is the same...as a matter of fact the Author never claimed these bubbles were 'full of fog' but rather 'smoke'....smoke is a by-product of combustion, containing from 10's to 100's of different chemicals depending on the temperature of the chemical and physical reaction...

interesting effect, but honestly, it really does not work for me here...would have preferred to see a nice crisp image...

Indeed, although 'Barry' is somewhat questionable, at best...the set-up is great...the cover of the album differs just enough from the BG to be outstanding...again, great job author...

I mean seriously, the outline of the hair almost perfectly matches...author, you need a new hair-style...Lol

I like the contrast, but the lines and angles really make this shot...well done on the crop and composition author. In a contest with so many entries it's difficult to get a shot that stands out. Wonderful work author.

Mossy, the shadow is to the left, but also towards the camera, indicating the subject is between the the light source and the camera. I think I know what i'm talking about here when it comes to the subject of lighting...
