I'm not sure why you changed the perspective of the original dog and cat? You could have easily kept the perspective and just flipped the cat horizontally and everything would've looked a lot better. Better yet I would have kept the original background of the dog, added the cat and then pasted the source cat on the new cat. I think this is funny, and I do see the kitty up on the bridge. Shadows are pretty easy if you know the tricks. Don't give up. Here is a link to a tutorial on shdows.

Author it looks like you masked the door knocker really well, which in my opinion would be harder than extracting a person. There are plenty of guides on how to extract images over the net, i suggest you browse around. At the moment, as it;s been mentioned, the man in the image looks very roughly cut out with various jagged edges, with a bit more time this could be a great image. Good luck!

you should try using pen tool for selection... after selecting everything with pen tool right click and choose make selection.. or use quick selection tool this should give better effect then whatever you used

OK, but the man looks very cut out... maybe you need to blend him into the image more to make it more believable?? ... what may have been better is if the source image was half and half on both doors, but you'd have to make another door... just my opinion...

It looks like a very simple image. try to brighten the area above the lighting, if you search images of lightning you can see how it affects the sky.

It would be really cool if you had lightning hit the tree with a big spark of light. Also the rain might look a bit better if you added some perspective on it so the higher rain looked smaller. Good luck!

My comment isn't spam. Spam by definition is a unsolicited email, usually including some kind of pitch to get you to spend money. My comment is a question as to why you think that blending cartoons in a realistic setting works for you because this image didn't quite make it for me.
