Loaned the eyes from a source image and blended in, the rest is just basic hand/brush work with layers.

This is my "I am back!" -entry for the PXLeyes. I was away for a LONG time, and now I felt like refreshing my "art"-hobby. This one took mostly a lot of work by hand and standard brushes, to add texture for the "ball" made from the sunshade, and blending in the extra g...

I'm pretty sure the original instrument is viola (kind of heavy built alto violin) but anyways, I took some artistic liberties with the proportions as well as with the idea of a rock star playing oversized viola like a guitar. Notes used are from my own notebook, Chopin's Waltz, opus 64, n. 2 ...

I chose an original retro picture from the 1950's without colour as I wanted some challenge. I tried to keep the feeling of an actual old photograph. Besides standard brushes I used several external sources for the textures. I somewhat doubled the original image size to make working a bit easier...

Please take a look at the hi-res, this probably doesn't make any sense whatsoever when looking the small preview. This started as a winter image and then I made the luscious summer image.. I couldn't decide which one was more nice and didn't want to submit 2 very similar entries, so I made 2 mo...
All buildings derived from source image. Used 2 external sources from which I built the bg skyscrapers and trees and created the night sky. See hi-res for details.

I do a lot of driving (night times) because of my work and I see animals where there aren't more than often, when driving very tired. When it's dark and rainy, it gets even worse. For a blink of an eye this kind of things I sometimes imagine and see. It's a sure sign for you to stop and take a na...
Only one source for the leaf (I was lazy), the rest is derived from the original source. Tried a few new techniques and finished it with a lot of traditional hand work, check out SBS for details (and hi-res). I tried to achieve a watercolour painting like effect, but also saved 2 original pape...
