The source image you used comes from Pixabay, which is good. However, this image was created by somebody else, and this is not allowed here. In this case, you should look for a landscape, a ship, a pirate (or someone you change into a pirate yourself).

Perhaps that's what the monk awaits, something to happen in his life, even something terrible as people falling down? Maybe he is meditating on the laws of physics??? Is the bridge going to collapse or not? who will dare crossing???

Very good idea! You might refine the edges of the children, take your time and... a small eraser tool, a soft clone stamp brush. Or you can create a new blank layer, redo all the children edges with a small blur tool (select "sample all layers". Also these children should be a bit darker as they are in a tunnel. Good luck

Very beautiful, but you forgot someting from the contest goal: "Also there must be someone or thing in the foreground enjoying the scene!"
(and also there is a square shape you should fade off in the sea mist under the boat cabin)
