Straight, well exposed and oh so European that it makes me want to go there...again.
(5 years and 819 days ago)This has a touch of evil in it, the salience of it has impacted upon me. Grrrreeat.
(5 years and 819 days ago)This is well thought out, with love. Again all is natural and so gorgeous to look at, especially if you are a squirrel!
(5 years and 819 days ago)I like this very au naturel just love the colour palette. This would look great framed.
(5 years and 819 days ago)Good story author. Seems legit.
(5 years and 819 days ago)very good, try to make the regard of the little girl in the right way !
(5 years and 820 days ago)Good blend & mood over all, but the fish tail doesn't work for me.
(5 years and 822 days ago)I added my settings for you in the Imgur album. Yea it's more warm for sure. At first I tried a warming color filter but it was inadequate. Up to you which one you like.

Haha. Yup, BWR = BigWaveRider . Gonna be changing my name soon. Mods said they can't give me a name change, so I have to make a whole new account.
Hi author. I did a few things that I thought would improve it. You did a really good job of color matching the boy, the girl and the cat into the background, but IMO the overall color cast of the image made it look flat. So I did some quick and dirty color/light work on it, and now I believe the chop "pops" a bit more. Let me know what you think.
(5 years and 822 days ago)Made two more images that are sort of a mini SBS. I used Nik filters and Color Balance. Am I allowed to tell you the settings? I have no problems giving you the settings, but is it against the rules?

Congratulations for 1st and 2nd Sylvie. You are very good at these night to day challenges.
(5 years and 823 days ago)First and second. Not bad.
(5 years and 824 days ago)Winna!!
(5 years and 824 days ago)Congrats Sylvie, you did a very good job on this, well done
(5 years and 824 days ago)Pretty bizarre Z.
(5 years and 824 days ago)I must have been sleeping for a few days because I missed this contest.
(5 years and 824 days ago)Good chop Zizounai.
(5 years and 824 days ago)Nice dog fur on the hands. Wish you woulda made an SBS to show how it was done.
(5 years and 824 days ago)YW author. They do look better now. They don't look like they are floating in the air. I got some more suggestions if you would like to hear.
(5 years and 825 days ago)Owl and background sky are the same values. Makes it hard to see.
(5 years and 825 days ago)He was about 2mm by 2mm ....huge...in my eyes! :-O
(5 years and 825 days ago)Maybe I said that wrong. I meant some dark color where your subjects touch the ground. Here, I made a gif, using the boy's feet to show you what I mean. https://i.imgur.com/2tfukZe.gif
(5 years and 825 days ago)I used black in this gif, but it's probably best to sample a dark color by the boy's feet using the eye dropper. You can then use PS's Color Picker to make that sampled color lighter or darker. I used a 33% opacity brush, but went over it a couple times or so. IMO he looks more "attached" to the ground now.
Well, let me tell you what happened to me in China. I was absorbed into a jumping spider who in his curiosity decided to get closer to me. He jumped on my camera. My first reaction was to smash the camera to the pavement to avoid getting up close and personal...sheesh, I felt like a fool. Then I put the camera down to allow him to leave and live in peace. He did vacate my camera. Then I wanted to step on him and kill him....WHAT A FOOL I FELT LIKE.....I didn't because deep in my heart I love these ugly little beasties that scare the crap right outta me ...micro or macro....I love em.
(5 years and 825 days ago)Neat idea. Maybe brush some very dark color either on a multiply, or hard light layer underneath them where they join the ground. Just a very small amount. This will connect them to the ground and make it look like the are not floating in the air. Look very closely at your source images and you will see what I am saying. You can use several layers if needed. Sometimes I do a very very fine real dark layer of shadows, and then a more spread out lighter one, and sometimes even a lighter one spread out more. Gaussian Blur can be helpful on the shadows but isn't always needed. Better yet, check out some video tutorials on this. Just making nice shadows will increase the believability of your Chops by a lot.
(5 years and 825 days ago)I like this music
(5 years and 826 days ago)Good in monochrome, it was the wise way to upload this.
(5 years and 826 days ago)Nicely composed, makes me want to go back there.
(5 years and 826 days ago)I would kill for this. Nice capture.
(5 years and 826 days ago)I find myself captivated with this upload. I love the whimsy felt with all the green grasses surrounding this damselfly who is colour coordinated with the background - serendipity. I like the composition as is to show the environment. The well captured focal point, sharp. A great upload, thank you. I know these are most difficult to capture, you did a great job.
(5 years and 826 days ago)He is so ugly that he is cute. I would have loved to see him closer but I do know they jump.
(5 years and 826 days ago)Nice Work.
(5 years and 829 days ago)Very good, except the blurry bottom of the cloud is unconvincing...might have been better to use cloud brushes.
(5 years and 830 days ago)CONGRATS SYLVIE on second but my oh my that was a splendiferous post and so well done, in my heart it is also a number one.
(5 years and 830 days ago)Congratulations Sylvie.
(5 years and 831 days ago)Congratulations...for 2nd
(5 years and 831 days ago)Most of the time I agree with the judging here, but this was under-rated. A nice feel-good chop. I even downloaded the Fairy-dust brushes.
(5 years and 831 days ago)She must be a gourmet cook.
(5 years and 832 days ago)This looks like "inside" the window?
(5 years and 832 days ago)Tone is better now.
(5 years and 833 days ago)Great way to mount a flag
(5 years and 833 days ago)You did an excellent job here. I agree with the comments above. Good luck.
(5 years and 833 days ago)The brightness of the stone wall on the "axe girl's" left is some what bright compared to the other wall. perhaps toning that down would help the girl stand out a little more. Nice work I like the concept.
(5 years and 833 days ago)I agree with this.
(5 years and 834 days ago)Oh my, that lens distortion is making me dizzy.
(5 years and 834 days ago)Yo Author, I was talking about the original source image and not your Chop. If you look at the source http://www.pxleyes.com/images/contests/girl-in-fur/fullsize/sourceimage.jpg, the fur in the center, is out of focus. I thought that's what still26 was talking about.
(5 years and 834 days ago)Yea still.. I saw the same thing with the blurry fur.
(5 years and 834 days ago)Good chop. BWR approved.
(5 years and 834 days ago)Very creepy looking. It looks like it could be a horror movie poster. It makes me wonder who or what she is going to chop up for lunch. Well done. Maybe just add a bit of back light on the girl so it looks like the moonlight is shining on her back like in the tutorial? It will make her stand out a bit more.
(5 years and 835 days ago)Beautiful. I specially like the colorizing of the middle portrait.
(5 years and 836 days ago)Wonderful creativity shown here although the fur around her hat doesn't feel right, it is the wrong focus and appears blurry. Your work feels cold brrrrrr. ....and that is a good thing
