Got some videos for ya for difficult selections like the hair. I watched the first one long ago and still use those techniques.

"Advanced Tutorial: How to Select Difficult Hair in Photoshop CC"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33tz2Xszil0

I watched this one but don't remember much about it but I do remember it was helpful.

Here is a sample search from Google. notice how "Labelled for reuse with modifications" allowed is highlighted in blue under the search bar. It's a bit funky at first but then it doesn't bother you after a while.

Also make sure your sources are non manipulated photos and not drawings or CGI.

You don't need to use any particular website but you do need to have source images that have had their copyright released. You can't just google an image and use it. The website you get it from must specifically say you can use it. The sites in the links we gave you are just some examples. You can also use Google but you have to make sure to do this:

1. Search for your image on Google images
2. Click on "tools" tab below the search box.
3. Go to the "Usage Rights" tab and make sure it is set to "Labelled for reuse with modifications"

Pretty easy huh? Now google isn't foolproof but most of the images you find this way will be fine as long as the page you get it from indicates that.

Nice quote, thank you. The image is a tad soft but very creative....and the colour palette in purple and pink hues is calming.

It's recommended that you read the Pxleyes Guide found here: http://www.pxleyes.com/courses/pxleyes-guide/

All sources must be added to your entry and be free of copyright and be available for use, the copyright license and usage must be shown on the link.

Wallpapers are not useable sources. They are mostly copyrighted images, and not offered under Creative Commons licensing.

There's a big chunk of her right calf, on the inside, that is missing. Right above her foot. Also I don't think they will accept that galaxy as a legit source. Since it's just a galaxy it shouldn't be hard to find a legit one that is allowed for modification.

Here's some rules on the Photoshop contests. http://www.pxleyes.com/blog/2013/08/participating-in-pxleyes-photoshop-contests/

This is a great post by SpaceRanger on where to get legit sources. http://www.pxleyes.com/blog/2009/06/how-and-where-to-find-legal-source-images/
