Too much dead space at the top with the fog. At least the water at the bottom offers some ripples and a whirlpool...
(5 years and 3075 days ago)Nice work! Just one suggestion: I'd flip one of the moons. (Oh, and make a SBS too...).
(5 years and 3075 days ago)On second look, smooth the jagged edges.
Cool guy
(5 years and 3093 days ago)Beautiful, love the vibrant colors
(5 years and 3093 days ago)I give you props for an original idea.
(5 years and 3093 days ago)I really like this one, gives me the heebie jeebies, but still.. nice feel
(5 years and 3096 days ago)I would suggest for future work that you spend a bit more time on your masking. It will help refine and enhance your work. It is a pain to get it right but worth the effort.
(5 years and 3100 days ago)It all starts there, no matter how good everything else is, if you have left-over pixels, smudgy bits and outlines it can ruin a great image. You idea is very good, your masking needs some more work. To get you going try checking out this tutorial on how to mask trees ... hope it helps http://www.pxleyes.com/tutorial/photoshop/1272/How-To-Mask-A-Tree-In-3-Minutes.html
Needs a shadow since the light source is behind.
(5 years and 3101 days ago)If you can't find the link you can't use the image.
(5 years and 3101 days ago)EDIT: Good, you found the link! Now think about having the edges of the reflection conform to the ripples in the water.
I like the overall idea even though, looking at the high-res, the blending can be a lot improved. You might take a small (3 pxl) soft blur brush, create a new layer (check the box on top: "sample all layers" and soften the edges. This way your sources will blend better. There's also a hard edge over the bird it self, you can get rid of that with a bigger soft eraser brush set to 20% and go over the edge multiple times. Might sound like a lot of work but it isn't and it will improve your entry lot.
(5 years and 3102 days ago)Partially submerged is a fun idea. But the non-solid/non-opaque ceiling arch is odd. And the soffit/cove-ceiling thing on the near right side not matched on the left side is weird that might best be solved by eliminating it from either side both near and far.
(5 years and 3102 days ago)Very interesting entry, GL!
(5 years and 3105 days ago)That mjrananum green girl on the vine swing is becoming her own meme...Interesting image, but the lighting of the shoe (LH top) does not match the tree (RH side), nor the cow (RH top)...It does match the green foliage on top of the tree, which is also reversed, though...
(5 years and 3108 days ago)You may want to try adding some highlights with the Dodge tool at low opacity on the RH side, or flip the shoe. If you reverse the tree and the shoe foliage, the image will look more consistent than at present...
Light source direction is an important consideration.
It's kind of dark, but the worms are a great touch! Love how you hollowed his face.
(5 years and 3134 days ago)Super cool scary image...gl author
(5 years and 3139 days ago)This is a nice entry! Fixing some minor issues would further improve it:
(5 years and 3139 days ago)1. That metal pipe ( whatever is called ) must be cut out with pen tool in order to avoid chunky shape. Afterwards Ctrl click layer go to Select -modify , contract 2 pixels, invert selection and blur it. Same for the lemon slice in foreground.
Maybe overlaying the sky color on it at a lower oppacity would increase the blending.
2. Use blur and slight desaturation for the lemons in the background to create a better sense of depth.
interesting refreshing image...nice colors and some cool effects...GL author
(5 years and 3141 days ago)biggest minus - shadowed lemon... there should be a lighting on the lemon, not a shadow...
(5 years and 3141 days ago)the color of the liquid in the glass doesn't show any of the blue behind it. The extra lemon slices look shadowed. The ice blue ice cubes in the water are the wrong blue. The glass doesn't sit in the water deep enough, it looks like it's on top of the water.
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Refreshing, but that's not a martini glass and why is the foreground lemon shadowed instead of casting a shadow?
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Lots of cool stuff, but some problems as well: The space-suit guys are WAY too big. The stars wouldn't shine through the moon, neither the lit nor dark portions.
(5 years and 3145 days ago)If you could somehow make all the parts share the same light source...that would be really cool. The people need to have their left sides light and right sides darker. This is very surreal and cool...and with the suggestion I've made it might help it be even better. Just a thought. Nice job, author! I like your thinking.
(5 years and 3152 days ago)These might be the goddesses of stone? lol! Gud luck author.
(5 years and 3195 days ago)Needs a reflection.
(5 years and 3220 days ago)Obvious distortion of the woman, otherwise just clean up a few edges & it's an interesting entry.
(5 years and 3220 days ago)the idea is cool, but the woman is flat and I would like to see SBS.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)=)
looks like this was done in M$ paint. Text looks very plain, unbelievable, and the image is very grainy. Not to mention Osama is believed to be dead.
(5 years and 3221 days ago)cool work author...love the approach...small nit pick...skin color on his hand is way different of his face color...but maybe that is ok cause in terrorist camps his face is always exposed to the sun, but his hands are always in the pockets...
(5 years and 3222 days ago)cool work...gl
(5 years and 3223 days ago)Good idea, but Bin Laden's head is distorted, and I doubt we'd ever see him in a suit & tie! GL author.
(5 years and 3223 days ago)Oh my...very imaginative!! I like that you chose Time for your magazine!
(5 years and 3224 days ago)Bin Laden's head/face needs to be blurred a bit. Maybe a little noise and slight desaturation too. I like the idea although it's kinda scary. GL author.
(5 years and 3224 days ago)Interesting!
(5 years and 3232 days ago)Good aproach to the real Michael. Good luck.
(5 years and 3233 days ago)nice work...gl
(5 years and 3234 days ago)cool interpretation author...good luck
(5 years and 3235 days ago)lol..i like this a lot..maybe the eye lashes need to be longer and dont forget the heavy eyeliner -then it will definitely resemble michael. GREAT JOB!
(5 years and 3237 days ago)I'm glad that people like it, I don't No offence man, but there's just too much going on.
(5 years and 3341 days ago)I get the skull breaking through her head skin, and the blood and the flames. But why do you need cigare smoke over the fire and 2 of the same rose on top?
Disturbing, but very creative! The jaw is too warped and the LH side of the "flames" is a bit too high contrast, fighting the image for dominance, but the overall concept is wonderful.
(5 years and 3341 days ago)BTW, welcome to PXL!
(5 years and 3342 days ago)I LOVE IT!!!!! and I'm happy to give it my highest approving comment:
(5 years and 3342 days ago)---WICKED-COOL!!!---
Not that you need it much but GL!
Great effects author and very nice work...gl
(5 years and 3368 days ago)It's so weird! But I like it!
(5 years and 3369 days ago)In a good way of course.
(5 years and 3369 days ago)Those eyes are piercing!
(5 years and 3369 days ago)Very interesting composition ... the outline around her could be softened a bit ... it is a little rough in Hi res (using the blur tool on a very low setting can help eliminate this and/or a low setting clone over the outline helps too).
(5 years and 3382 days ago)Edit: Clever solution to the issue
I can see this in the game of Final Fantasy!
(5 years and 3390 days ago)Fascinating image ... the concept is lovely. In hi-res I noticed it could use a little clean up on the chop of the woman. A little smoother cut around the hand and removing the stray pixels would help.
(5 years and 3393 days ago)Lovely image though!
Too blurry, rather than smoky/misty/ethereal. The stars also look a little flat and fakey.
