I can see that this is not perhaps a great shot but it is definitely an emotional one. It made me tear up a bit! I can see such a look of love and doggy wisdom (for wont of a better word) in his eyes!

Great catch and again, I think the blur gives it something that a "perfect" photo would lack! It makes it more human and with the subject being what it is that enhances the feeling for me.

This is a wonderful photo ... boy, I wish my discards were this good!!!! But I love the impact and personally think that the way the wings are cropped make it better (I am assuming that is why you consider it a technically poor image). Hard one for me to vote on ... but I will

For me this is very on theme ... the bird has a feel of loneliness and even desperation to it. It is easy to miss the little one and reject this as just a blurry photo. Then I noticed the bird and got goosebumps. The way he is overpowered by the rest of the image and yet he is the whole point of the photo. Isn't that the way we all feel sometimes?

Definitely artistic ... Author, what emotion does this represent to you? I feel a sense of awe in the beauty of the flower but would love to know what you get from it?

Original comment ... see EDIT below: This is a little too good ... sorry Author but you are too good! Seriously, I don't know if this grabs me enough. I would say that the lens flare makes it worthy of the theme on that level but I am not sure what mood or emotion evokes? Can you explain how it "grabs" you?

EDIT: I have come back to this a number of times and the more I look at it the more it impresses me. There is something very haunting about the lone girl on the beach that I did not notice at first. All the people on the wharf, together and there she is, alone, gazing into the sunset.

I think this is my fav ... it has a very journalistic feel but at the same time it goes beyond that ... the subtle emotion, the lighting and even the centre composition is great!

Love the sense of desperation in this. You feel as if the donkey think that there is food just a few step away and he can't make it there. But it doesn't look like he would have much better luck even if the rope was longer!
