Are the trees painted at the bottom, or wrapped in something? Is it for aesthetics? It definitely gives them an interesting "personality" in your photo, when combined with the effects of the wind!

The values are too blown out, the light areas are almost white, particulary the LH corner. This detracts from your focal point, and the light section leading diagonally down to that corner keeps dragging the eye over there.

I get why the back ground is kind of blurry. It's farther away and it's the most effective way to put the focus on the mermaids without actually putting a spot light on them, oh wait.... XD

A nice idea -- a bit of softing on the edges of the wings and some work on the masking betwwen the wing and shoe on the left would improve this IMHO
