I shot this Mantis after dark earlier this week. I had seen her mating earlier that day and was hoping to catch her eating her mate. That didnt happen, but the night shot was still freakin cool! f/9 ISO 200 1/60 sec w/flash
I went to the Zoo this winter for the Butterfly exhibit...The winter funk ya know. I found the Aquarium to be much more fascinating!

After a disappointing day of autumn photography, and sunset. I was on my drive home, when the sky lit orange and red from the dust in the upper atmosphere well after sunset. Revealing the setting crescent moon. I found the nearest tree, and shot this from the side of a busy highway with no tripod.
