for a sec thought the door was broken...
(5 years and 2460 days ago)I have absolutely no idea..... a sculpture maybe?
(5 years and 2460 days ago)Has a very quiet/private feel to it. Nice!
(5 years and 2460 days ago)Holy cow! Are those stone or carved wood made to look like stone? Either way, very cool!
(5 years and 2460 days ago)tape measure? which is 2 words.
(5 years and 2460 days ago)LOL, handbag?
(5 years and 2461 days ago)Shame the background kill a bit the "wild life" effect.
(5 years and 2473 days ago)Nice one!
(5 years and 2475 days ago)Never thought I'd see a view of Putney Wharf on this site! lol
(5 years and 2476 days ago)Cool catch with the bus travelling over the bridge
(5 years and 2480 days ago)Not my dream, but you never can tell what appeals to others, especially if they have no home or live in jammed quarters in the middle of the city.
(5 years and 2480 days ago)Lots of chocolate there, for sure!
(5 years and 2488 days ago)Good idea...funny! GL
(5 years and 2489 days ago)Mysterious, but I would have prefer with a better focus.
(5 years and 2494 days ago)Nice idea, but imo the butterfly can do with a bit more work. Its body looks a bit too smudgy for my taste. Good luck!
(5 years and 2495 days ago)I love the heavy jumpers in a place that obviously gets hot.
(5 years and 2496 days ago)Very nice light and tones. The approaching clouds tell a story. The ripped knee adds humour.
(5 years and 2496 days ago)Wow!
(5 years and 2500 days ago)Nice one...and photo...
(5 years and 2571 days ago)Dramatic!!
(5 years and 2571 days ago)Interesting formation
(5 years and 2594 days ago)great shot
(5 years and 2594 days ago)A little bit tilted... but a fantastic shot...
(5 years and 2599 days ago)Read my mind teecee... the garage boat you´re saying right ?
(5 years and 2599 days ago)The bridge to nowhere - great shot
(5 years and 2604 days ago)great shot - the background is awesome
(5 years and 2605 days ago)I truly wish that - that - was my boat - nice shot
(5 years and 2605 days ago)Are you sure you wanted this in the "bridges" theme? Maybe meant for "boats?"
(5 years and 2607 days ago)what an interesting bridge, it doesn't go anywhere.
(5 years and 2607 days ago)Kind of makes a neat abstract
(5 years and 2614 days ago)Nice photo... And I have an extreme curiosity to visit your country... all photos I see from there just made grow this feeling... Who knows one day...
(5 years and 2614 days ago)Neat Shot
(5 years and 2615 days ago)Text should be larger and white against a dark background. Not a very exciting font anyway.
(5 years and 2620 days ago)The posterized sky is a very cool touch. With all the empty space in the northeast quadrant, I don't see the need for the text to encroach on the cross atop the church. Making "Malta" bigger or a different font might be more 'postcardier.'
(5 years and 2621 days ago)Good perspective on this shot
(5 years and 2622 days ago)Looks like it might be SMART to be nervous about those stairs
(5 years and 2622 days ago)Maybe he's just afraid it's a TARDIS
(5 years and 2622 days ago)give this staircase that seem like a very reasonable fear
(5 years and 2622 days ago)Nice set of stamps
(5 years and 2623 days ago)Nice idea, I'd like to see the bird's head colour matched to the canopic jar though. Even just a quick replace colour job might create a good effect.
(5 years and 2623 days ago)interesting take on this GOOD LUCK!!!
(5 years and 2623 days ago)It would be better by adding some shadows of those things on the ground
(5 years and 2626 days ago)Those are the exact words that came to my mind, too! Great capture, author!
(5 years and 2627 days ago)I like how the angle of the seat takes the angle of the road into account
(5 years and 2630 days ago)Nice. Might reduce the yellows just a little
(5 years and 2636 days ago)I did not say it was "off theme," just that the shutters are not the focal point.
(5 years and 2643 days ago)A VERY SIMPLE test would be to show the photo to any 1 or 2 people, and ask, "What do you think this is a photo of?" Give them 2 chances to get it right. 3 or 4 even.
While "windows" would be close, "shutters" would probably NOT be guessed at.
So yes, while the photo is "on theme," that does not mean it accurately or effectively captures the theme, which are shutters. Not houses, foliage, cars, or other visually distracting elements...
Just sayin'...
True, but if you read the goal carefully, you will see that this is totally on theme. The theme seems to be pretty wide.
(5 years and 2643 days ago)The shutters do not seem to be the focal point of this photo, they appear to just be part of the image, like the cars, railings, and foliage.
(5 years and 2643 days ago)Great colors... love the eyes. Might want to bump up the contrast just a little
(5 years and 2654 days ago)Author: Not just you, there are MANY entries NOT following the contest description.
(5 years and 2654 days ago)Friiswiki, if you read the contest description, it CLEARLY states:
"landscapes which have a dark area on the outside..." That does NOT mean a nightscape with an illuminated area inside. Outside means OUTSIDE.
While I can well understand the desire to not exclude submissions, there is a very clear description of the contest, along with some very clear descriptions of an example:
"For instance a photo shot from the inside of a cave or through some bushes."
Nightscapes do NOT have "a dark area on the outside."
Contest descriptions are put there for a reason, and should be followed. That is why the suggestions page clearly requests:
"Please describe your theme idea as detailed as possible, with proper grammar and syntax, so misinterpretations are reduced to a minimum."
This misinterpretation of what constitutes a landscape with a dark area on the OUTSIDE is evident.
