I agree, some shadows cast by the girl would help this tremendously.

To me, the horse seems more like it's trying to escape the fire rather than being on fire as required by the theme.

The girl looks very out of place, she is casting no shadow, and the edges are very hard, making her look more pasted on than the pictures she is hanging. The Blur Tool, with a small brush and low opacity, around the edges will help the hard edge. The weird pose and shadow problem are a different matter.

weso--it seems as though the point/message of the photo is meant to be somewhat unrealistic--especially in the photoshop contests, things dont always have to make sense, it just adds to the artisticness of entries

i think the work is good but work must be believable as there is no doors lead to main street so from my opinion if you could add garden in front of the door and curve the street from door ......GL Author

The door seems to fit well in the environment and is pretty believeable. However the girl looks really cut out and she has no light hitting her from anywhere.. I would expect some light to be comming from outside and therefore you should adjust the lighting and shadow... Gl

Good work. Only thing is to the right there is a darker patch of sand that seems odd/out of place

OMG! it's Slushzilla.

The rainbow wouldn't cast a shadow, as much as the rainbow would also be showing on the canvas beneath the cup, albeit much fainter.

The narrow color palette is dramatic. I don't see any shadow at all, however, but I agree with MossyB that it would be a weak one. The skull in the precise middle of the path—not to mention near the center of the image—is kind of boring. The Rule of Thirds could help amp up the impact.

Nice image, but the shadow underneath is too strong for the environment. It is an overcast day, with no clear light source. The ambient lighting makes for softer shadows, look at the stick on the LH side and the bend at the end of the road...

Considering the distance between the truck and the baby, size it's ok for me.
