Like your composition giving room to breathe. Also you shot this at exactly the right moment. The tonal contrast could be stronger tho' to give it a richer feel.
(5 years and 939 days ago)Photograph something starting with the letter G, in English.
(5 years and 943 days ago)We are looking for objects. Not names of people, places or adjectives.
If not obvious, please name the object.
G like bass ?
(5 years and 944 days ago)It is a bicycle fishing garage
(5 years and 944 days ago)Great
(5 years and 944 days ago)What a delightful jumble of colours that are tossing and turning and making me wonder if you turned this photo upside down. I love being fooled by photography and you have succeeded. Furthermore, the family story that is present is strong with children's bikes and dad has a boat and is perhaps a bit of a carpenter with that saw there. Rich contrast, sharp image a pleasure to review.
(5 years and 945 days ago)Yes, thumbs up, not only did you include the grasses but you also caught the breeze along with the sun. Love the minimal colour palette of blues, it feels cool. Nice entry....again.
(5 years and 946 days ago)This photo does justice to the title and celebrates books and the hunger of young readers, a refreshing sight to witness. I like the busy feel to this image with people mulling around and the hither and dither scatter of books yet that young unhurried girls is the strong focal point of your image. Nicely seen and goo thing you had your camera with you on this day. You nailed it.
(5 years and 946 days ago)Grab all you can honey. Little keys of knowledge.
(5 years and 946 days ago)Lovely photo, but quite pixelated.
(5 years and 947 days ago)This morning and yesterday evening I was traipsing through the growing rice fields looking for this photograph and you bet me to it ! Congrats. It is warm and love the feeling of peering out to the sun. The grasses are sharp in part and a breeze can be felt. It is good to get a feeling from a photograph and we do with this upload. Warm honey colour is purrrfet. Very lovely image.
(5 years and 951 days ago)Love this. You nailed it.
(5 years and 954 days ago)Your lead lines take us to that all important grid point and it works. Full of patterns, not only in the required right angle, but also a delightful tease of tree branches in the distance. Sharp and good dof. Nice one.
(5 years and 955 days ago)I was trying to read the label on the front glue stick and would have preferred a sharper image at the front. Still the creative dof is present and the image looks as if you worked hard to present us with a photograph made, versus a photograph taken.
(5 years and 956 days ago)Why not? I gravitate towards the warmth tones and find that the orange hues bounce nicely with the green of the Cascade box. The message here is clear and we get it instantly. So glad you included clean dishes and not the other way around.
(5 years and 956 days ago)Is this a dishwashing soap or softener for the laundry? I am confused a bit by the message. Photographically well done in technical elements.
(5 years and 956 days ago)A photograph that spears us in the heart. Yes yes yes I would adopt this little dog and he is looking right at your lens, therefore at us. Clear sharp and with a heart tugging story.
(5 years and 956 days ago)This is such a wonderful piece to study and to think how much concentration went into each and every piece. You show the entire orchestra and that further highlights the labour intensive aspect to this handicraft. You shot this with good dof, it is clear and easy to see and that makes it interesting with all those patterns repeating. I also like the compositional angle which strengthens the photograph.
(5 years and 958 days ago)That's so cool.
(5 years and 958 days ago)Very nice shot
(5 years and 958 days ago)When I lived in Nfld we could get a lobster by the roadside for $1.50 and enjoy it...wonder how much it would be now. This is a well taken photograph, and I'm happy to see the reflection caught. Remember to give boats and moving objects room to "drive into" and this makes the image more powerful, however, your tight crop is artistic prerogative and I bow to yours. Very clear well done image.
(5 years and 960 days ago)What a beautiful little girl and a great photograph.
(5 years and 963 days ago)Sure is.
(5 years and 963 days ago)Nice shot. I like the DOF
(5 years and 965 days ago)I prefer to see the "X" with that wonderful reflection in the water! Well done my friend!
(5 years and 965 days ago)This is a photograph made, not a picture taken and I really like the "romantic" quality to it. We know you worked hard to get this and succeeded. I do think that the rock in the distance is vying for too much attention and is taking away from the grasses giving this an unbalanced feel...but that is strictly a subjective opion. Technically well done on quick shutter speed and freezing the swaying grasses and the colours are natural and appealing.
(5 years and 967 days ago)Sweet photo and like the different colour showing different times of day. A bit on the soft side tho'.
(5 years and 967 days ago)I see it!I see it! Looks like an M to me. Could be a C, could be a W, could be a fancy font X. Not matter, good eyes, that reflection makes it exciting. Quack quack
(5 years and 967 days ago)I see a W and it is great.
(5 years and 967 days ago)Beautiful stuff
(5 years and 967 days ago)More of an X than a C
(5 years and 968 days ago)It is most important that YOU like it. You have to listen to your creative angel that is sitting there on your shoulders whispering to you. Take what reviewers tell you with a grain of salt...nay a bushel and only apply changes that feel right to you. Yes, I like it better
(5 years and 971 days ago)What a gorgeous memorable portrait shot and I agree with Olivia, I too don't like things that fall out (like my hair for example). The mood of this photo is precious, dimly lit, she in deep thought. It is however full of noise and that is most likely due to high ISO and low light. Also not sharp, again most likely do to shallow dof. I love the story here.
(5 years and 972 days ago)You are one brave photographer but I see you have zoomed this in quite a bit as it is soft! Love the story and the centered composition. They actually don't smell all that bad, very natural smell (ahem).
(5 years and 972 days ago)Not an easy shot to get down so low and capture this little rascal. Looks like he is about to bolt and you caught him nice and sharp on his home turf. Hairy tail, hairy "wee beastie", nice one.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Hare hair here, hippity hop! Titles are part of the creative process and they DO MATTER especially in gallery showings. Love this and it would be a good entry into a camoflauge contest. Good marginal space but centered subject , why not try to place to the side and give him room to run into and excite the viewer visually.
(5 years and 972 days ago)YAY YAY YAY looks much better
(5 years and 973 days ago)What a cute little girl. Great shot.
(5 years and 973 days ago)Your upload made me grin from ear to ear. Good catch (both for you and the bird). It is too bad that you have blow outs on the feathers. Time to switch to manual but do keep that shutter speed high as you do already.
(5 years and 973 days ago)YOU BET,like this a lot. woof!
(5 years and 974 days ago)Like the thinking behind this shot! Good one.
(5 years and 974 days ago)'' Whenever you need help to finish it, I am right here '' look haha
(5 years and 976 days ago)Ahhhh takes my breath away LOL But on a more serious note I do like the title and photo and as you know in gallery showings the title does matter to help the photo along and it is part of the creative process...so all joking aside, I like your shot.
(5 years and 976 days ago)Great catch, to bad about the blowouts. Are you shooting in A mode, if so time to bite the bullet and shoot in Manual you will have more creative control...try it.
(5 years and 976 days ago)I knew this contest would have a sailboat and I found your upload. Personally I feel this would be a much much much stronger image had you placed the boat to the side and given it much room to "fly" into, but that is your artistic prerogative and I bow to it. That bird's blur adds some exciting movement to your image.
(5 years and 978 days ago)You have totally captured these children in their own world of bubbles, spontaneous photo and the child in the background is supporting the main character. What do you think if you cropped a bit more at the left to eliminate those dark hard lines that take our eyes out of the frame?
(5 years and 978 days ago)A drive-by shooting?
(5 years and 979 days ago)I would've called it "garbage photo" (IMHO)
(5 years and 980 days ago)I really like that you broke photography rules and made this work. Our teachers always used to stress never to photograph anything from behind...well, what a bunch of bull. Nicely seen and taken but do you think it could use a touch more contrast as the tonal ranges seem washed out a bit?
(5 years and 985 days ago)Hmmmm yes, I understand. I am new to this site and am surprised to learn that when we look at uploaded photos on the hi-res button they are much clearer...maybe your crow would look great if you direct the viewer to study it under hi-res button?
