Beautiful!
(5 years and 3596 days ago)I was thinking Aerosmith, too! I would have liked to see an eye, too. Or that the shadow was so straight across. But the image is AWESOME!
(5 years and 3599 days ago)Nice emtional imapact, too!
(5 years and 3599 days ago)Red won but they kept playing?
(5 years and 3604 days ago)Excellent! @Giulia: If you look at the balls you can SEE exactly where the light source is and you will see that the shadows are correct. You don't make shadows in 3D. Your light source does.
(5 years and 3604 days ago)Fantastic. I really like the way the picture is colored like a child would. Actually, when I was a child I would only color the top of the page blue because I thought that was where the sky was!
(5 years and 3604 days ago)I love love LOVE the tree reflection on the ball!
(5 years and 3604 days ago)Why don't people understand that the Disney version that you're familiar with is NOT all encompassing of Allice in Wonderland? Before voting and making comments it should be understood that there is a LOT more to Alice then what you think you know! Nice image Author. Has a nice feel to it.
(5 years and 3604 days ago)Funny.
(5 years and 3604 days ago)Obviously there are people here who watch too much Disney and don't do enough reading! Even more recent Alice movies include Jaberwocky in the story. YES this is part of Alice in Wonderland! It will be sad if people vote based on their own ignorance.
(5 years and 3604 days ago)Nice job!
(5 years and 3607 days ago)Author: Cool. I wasn't sure if you'd done it on purpose. I think that it's great! Good idea throwing off the symetry with that.
(5 years and 3607 days ago)I miss my teddy bears. One my grandmother gave me when I was a baby somehow got lost right after she died when I was 14! The other was a little panda bear that I couldn't even tell you when I stopped crying when I thought about him!
(5 years and 3607 days ago)Spectacular. I just hope that as a child, your playroom didn't have a cold marble floor on which to play!
(5 years and 3607 days ago)I like this sun! The movement of the background and crispness of the edges. The smily face.
(5 years and 3607 days ago)Nice idea!
(5 years and 3607 days ago)Only thing I find wierd about this is that the perspective goes to a point just below the light source at the back, but the light source is just to the left of it. So it makes it look off kilter in the back. Good composition, though.
(5 years and 3607 days ago)Really nice idea and execution!
(5 years and 3608 days ago)Spectacular! Good job!
(5 years and 3610 days ago)Fantastic!
(5 years and 3611 days ago)Excellent idea.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)There's another image in this contest that uses a checkerboard floor. It's a great idea and you will find that the vast majority of renaissance paintings use some type of checkerboard pattern in the floor/ground to give the illusion of depth. Called an orthogonal grid. The problem with this image is that the angle of the checkerboard is such that you don't get that illusion because the vanishing points of the checkers is to the left and right of the vanishing point of the rest of the image. However, if this is your intention the image is fantastic. I am particularly fond of the lollypops.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)Nice image.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)Spooky surreal!
(5 years and 3611 days ago)I'm happy to see this again and I never saw it the first time! Favorite.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)I understand what you're saying with the light and dark, masculine and feminine, but I don't really see much difference in the lightness and darkness from one part to another. And if there was, those elements aren't really placed in such a way that I would see how they give the image ballance in such a way that making one element darker than the other hopes to achieve. That being said: This image is absolutely FANTASTIC and NOTHING that I said even matters. High HIGH marks from me.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)@Ray Tedwell: I see it. The empty chair represents (his) absense. The Owl represents his flight. The watermelon represents the sweetness of her memory of him. The hand is the persistance of this memory as it hangs over her head. Not random at all IMHO. Very nice work, Author.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)I'm not a fan of using anyone else's images if I can help it. Unfortunately I don't have photographs of snakes and marble columned doors stored in my camera to use. But I can easily use my own images of grass, birds and maybe even mushrooms. What I don't understand is what's the difference between DA images and images from any other source, like flickr creative commons. Why is DA always attacked here? I really like this image. Particularly fond of the placement of the snake. It just makes so much sense to me.
(5 years and 3611 days ago)Your own take on this is excellent!
(5 years and 3611 days ago)Ya! Das ist ein boot! Und fische. Ser gut.

(5 years and 3614 days ago)I don't see why someone said you can't use text! That's crazy. But I didn't see this entry befoe you got rid of it. It might be better without it. Most entries are.
(5 years and 3614 days ago)Nice job with the shading.
(5 years and 3614 days ago)The lights in he eyes and the highlights on her cheeks are nicely done!
