Good masking! I would suggest the young and old men face the other direction, to create a flow from baby to boy to man. Good choice of baby picture! Love the look of struggle. Men facing other way would continue the upward climb, too.
(5 years and 3543 days ago)Interesting idea! I think the water would be a little lower in the toilet bowl, no? And maybe the lines either straight or cloned out altogether? Good luck!
(5 years and 3543 days ago)I think I would have preferred the image tell the story (surprised look on the bear's face perhaps) without the conversation bubbles.
(5 years and 3698 days ago)Papa Teddy looks distorted - too bad you couldn't have found a bear facing in the direction / position you needed. (And Papa Bear better get a paternity test - that baby is a dog hahahaha!!) Very nice scene and great job with the table props.
(5 years and 3698 days ago)I like this a lot! The expressions are priceless. Shadows are such a tough thing - the poker chips and cards on the blanket look like they are floating (bears a bit, too). Great choice of bears and the masking is outstanding!
(5 years and 3698 days ago)I love it! (Hope none of my children's teddy bears ever did this!)
(5 years and 3698 days ago)Nicely done. The floor boards are disproportionately HUGE, though. Would like a high resolution version and an SBS.
(5 years and 3705 days ago)So nicely done (but check the lower right edge of the Statue's dress); too bad it's not quite to theme.
(5 years and 3705 days ago)Agree with CMYK about the strings (plus, they look somewhat like snakes, eew). I like your idea a lot, author, especially the nice touch of slight transparency of the balloons.
(5 years and 3705 days ago)My old comment: curtains could use a little even-ing. : ) LOVE that chair!
(5 years and 3792 days ago)This detailed transformation really calls for a detailed SBS, no?
(5 years and 3800 days ago)Excellent idea. Breasts look very good, especially considering how small the model really is. However, I would like to see a neater bikini top, with straight straps and more centered bra cups. I think it detracts from your good body work to have the bra look so rawly liquified. Good luck!
(5 years and 3800 days ago)Compression is a killer. High res is very nice.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Anyone else have a little difficulty mixing 3d renders with pure Photoshop entries? I do. This is gorgeous, author, but I think someone using 3d rendering programs has an apple/orange advantage over us good ol' PS choppers. Feels a bit like someone using DA artwork. ; ) Just an observation.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)This is quite lovely. The hand is definitely weird. Any way you can move the arm to the other side of the body instead? I also find the scarf distracting and unnatural for the image. Would you consider creating a neck? I really like the "fantasy"!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Very nice!! Clean, clean, clean. I would suggest a little "disturbance" to the sand under all the feet and boat, rather than smooth shadows only. Wet sand usually gives in to pressure and weight by creating impressions and displacement. Agree with CMYK. menelve and Philister on brightness/highlights and shadows. There's something "pasted in" and a bit isolated about the pirate scene compared to the background, it's not blending naturally. Awesome masking! Perfect!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)So well done. Perhaps a little clean up around the ears ("cut" edges are visible) and softening/blending where the horns are attached. Especially if this is second time around, all the hard work is done - now there's time to perfect.. : ) I'll wait to vote.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Technically, there is some distortion or disproportion in the head/mouth, but this is so funny and loaded with cleverness!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)The drop shadow on the cow head conflicts with the light source: there should be no shadow at all on the right side (looking at image), none mid-air on the ears, and should be "redder" on the left side like the shadow on the body. Also, shadow of head should not be darker than the darkest shadow on the woman. Overlapping shadows fade into each other, they do not get darker. After all that, I also think the cowface should follow the direction of the woman's body a little more to look less "pasted on." That may require a new cowface at less straight-on and a little more profile angle, sorry!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Smudge, warp, and liquify does not a melt make. Perhaps you can check "melt" tutorials for tips on making this work a little better. Good luck., author! : )
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Why do I feel this perfectly depicts what's happening in our country right now? OK - end of political commentary. : ) Author this is nicely done. I especially like the drips over the edge. Consider keeping the ledge edge straight, with melting over the edge. It seems you want the statue to melt but the base to remain solid. If that's true, then the very top of base should be straight, not melting. Good luck!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Author, wonderful detail. Thanks for the great SBS.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)I don't get the purpose of the pins, despite the "torture" title, but I love the way the numbers and other watch features are just falling away with the flow. Wait - "pins" are watch hands? Still not sure. But this is terrific!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)When using images that cannot be sourced with a URL, you must show the original uncut image (grandaughter in backyard) in your SBS. Looks like a gorgeous photo! As for the reflection, this water is too choppy for a reflection that clear. More importantly, it is not actually reflecting her position! Look closely - the reflection has been flipped horizontally so her left side is on the right side in the water - not real. Plus, if you insist on using a reflection, it should fall and continue all the way from her body, not just appear as an isolated piece away from her body. Hope that helps!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Detailed SBS, thanks so much! Nicely done!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Even if the images do not have URLs, rules say you have to show the uncut images (by screen capture) from the DVD or source. Any proof you can find that you are authorized to use the images is good. My question is why you changed the waves and shading (between steps 6 & 7) - original (step 6 and earlier) gave nice texture and contrast that's lost in final. There's also something about the light on the wings. Not as noticable in color, but the dark version looks like light is behind wings, when true source is upper left.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)First, author, both the image of the man and the woman are rights-managed. Do you have permission to use them? Rules are, you have to show proof of authorization or payment receipt in the SBS. Once you're over that potentially disqualifying hurdle, next, the concept is good, but to make it work successfully: 1. re-add the man and woman from the original source, making sure they are in correct proportion (they are too "tall" or "skinny"right now to be natural); desaturate the woman to make her grayscale like her background. There are also some light source/shadow issues. Good luck!
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Author, stick with stock exchange for images and 99.99% of your images will be free of copyright issues. : ) This is a good job. The masking needs a little clean up on the main food image. The perspective of the utensils is also off, but it's most evident with the fork. Next time, consider finding an image of utensils in the same orientation as you need for your work - it's easier. : )
(5 years and 3814 days ago)I love this one! The only thing is, the limbs of balloon animals are created by twisting the balloon, not simply "attached" pieces together.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Great creativity! hahaha
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Very nice erasing job. I would suggest varying the soles (or perhaps erasing the gum image from them) to give more variety or realism - something
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Nice! But with all that blue everywhere, what is the source of the pink reflection on the left figure? (I know it's in the original, but some pink underneath on the "table/flat" area would cure the reflection problem. That, or change the pink reflection to a dark blue.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)LOL Lots of avatar borrowing going on in this contest! Author, there's something about the reflections/light sources of the right-side leg in the picture (left on figure) that makes it look twisted. Light source in general is conflicted.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Terrific job - love the SBS. Please look at both hands, though. Thumb on fork hand overlaps in a funny way, and little fingers on both hands look oddly flat at the bottom.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Very imaginative. The perspective of the far left drum looks a bit distorted.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Quite a bit of work here! However, light reflecting on gumballs conflicts - mixed light sources.
(5 years and 3814 days ago)Funny! But I agree that the filter should be eliminated (makes it look dirty).
