This photo is more than an image, it's telling a story like most of the images, "blank space" above people has a lot of significance (stillness, rest, silence...) The light from "blank space" has meanings too and it's important to show. All those things convert a photo to a story, and like stories it could be well narrated or bad narrated, in this case, IMHO I think that all makes sense, even the brown color

To my point of view, composition is excelent, not perfect but excelent, All set a visual game: the river, the house, the mountain, the fog, the green blanket... you can almost smell the moisture.
