While this is a really interesting shot I'm not really seeing the "upwards" view. It's there, yes, but not very prevalent. Maybe you could reshoot from a lower angle on Mr. Rex? All the best!

I think a ray or spot of sun on the climber would really improve this image.

I'm with you there. Lovely shop, but I think it wold be better if you cropped some of the sky. Crop it so the sky takes up 1/3 of the image. I feel it would make for a stronger image.

Nice subtle tonality really works well to give this dimension. I do feel the edges of the cherry are a bit ragged IMHO, just a little touch up to smooth out the shape is all I'd suggest.

The underside edge of the back of the slice should be shaded.
