I'd have to agree. When I thought up this idea, it was about pushing the curve levels and maybe pushing them a little more with this image might help but that's mainly IMO.

Definitely an improvement, but not quite the amazing changes we have seen in some other photos. Normally that would be a good thing, but the way I understand this contest it's about really pushing the boundaries.

Don't think this image was improved by heavy use of curves.

Genesis could be an alternative tittle for this one.
The "right" tittle helps a lot your photo & the viewer to understand the feeling you want to impress.
Creates an interlude / atmosphere.

Egg light is just ...an egg with light in it...

Genesis is the creation of life inside the egg...the miracle of life before our eyes!!!

I respect the fact a good percentage of us don't have photo studios, controlled lighting, infinity walls, ect, ect,,ect! Making do with what you have stretches your ability in the future to be creative and inventive, so keep it up! nice effort!
A different color back drop could make a difference, even black would be interesting; my wardrobe still comes in handy for back drops!

Interesting depth of field but I don't like how the focus is on something ordinary looking. Nothing really pops imo.
