Lovely expression and light, could use a little white balance correction, to warm it a bit, and I do wish you had used a tripod, it's just a little soft.

Personally I'm not fond of the expression, but everything else is great. Have fun with your new lens, not that it looks like you have much to learn.

Author, I can see your thinking behind this image, but feel some careful cropping could bring the subjects closer without loosing the atmosphere in the photo.

a lovely attempt, if you shot in raw you may be able to recover some of the details in the highlights without loosing them in the shadows.

I agree this is better, you have cropped it closer so we can really see the girls faces but you haven't lost the lovely surrounding.

Nice idea, the photo not the gift. I do feel the background is too overpowering, love it, but.. Might have been better if the 'Melon man' who is should be the main object, wasn't quite so dark.
