Agree...clairify the subject by cropping out the distracting light at the top and you'll have a stronger image author...

IMHO it could do with a crop at the top. The eye is automatically led to the light but in this case the light is both at the top and bottom so a little distracting

I think the description of the contest is confusing, really... The idea, I believe, is that things should appear to float... hence, the aquarium would be allowed because it is quite obvious that there is glass there... but, the confusion makes this a valid shot indeed!
