I mainly like the birth/death symbolism, the symmetry that works wonderful in this entry, making it look like an eye and that you're awesome at creating moods.

There's too much going on- the main focus of the composition cannot be distinguished since elements are fighting with eachother= no harmony.

You had a good idea with the back, why not take a photo of someones naked back and warp/ distort the clock on it, play around.
A Ranum chick usually does the trick IF she's not dating any recent / current entry.

Man, this can look good and has some nice potential, for eg. I like the composition(meaning how you placed the objects) & the light cast on the ground, pretty neat.

But i don't get:
- why each moon has a diff light source;
- why did you download cosmos package, and then used only 1 moon 3 times; you know you can get moons with marque tool + desert ground + spherize & some color/lvl adjusments.
- why didn't you erase that small vertical pole under the tree - it came with the source but it's an useless distraction

And yeah CMYK's right: next time hold shift when transform so they won't distort.
It's a pretty concept but the technical flaws drag it down -so improve it if you can.

Pretty composition with a nice color palette.
1. For some reason the shape of the spaceship ended bumped in the final result with masking probs., you could retrace it with pen tool and make it right.
2. The design of the ship is a bit confusing since the orientation of the wings points that it's front is in the upper side, while the cockpit and it's searching light, points the opposite.
3. Some description would really help since the design is not explaining : is the ship searching something or is it taking off ( in the 1st case wings are wierd, in the last case there should be some reactors or stuff, and the cockpit shouldn't be at the bottom).
If you have time, improve it, if not, it's one of the best around anyways. Good luck.

Author, i respect your 'standing ground', and afterall leaving it like that it's cool as well - the door is transparent so you don't know what expects you on the other side.
But there's no such thing as an honest result or objectiveness (LOL), since each person has his own do & don't-s list. Some, as you said, might judge you based on the idea, others based on the stock you used, others on techniques, others cause they always liked interdimensional doors, whatever.. There are so many judges & POVs that you shouldn't even care. So congrats to you for following your guts .

You should find another nice image with a Winter landscape and place it in the door.
Really, is not that hard, and the effect should be awesome.
Don't "green" it , like Dan said( no offence), but "WINTER" it. The sand vs. snow has more impact than grass vs sand, for obvious reasons. Good luck!
