I believe it would look more interesting to have only half of your face corrupted. Use some texture like this (http://www.sxc.hu/photo/1186892) instead of tree bark & fill the background with 2 gradients of oppossing colour, red/ black, blue/ white, you get the idea. This would bring out the duality that is present in every human.

The first thing we learn in statue tutorials is to remove the eyes(iris), i think you should try it since you aimed to make a sculpture ( right?)
The pedestal should at least have some shadows to look like it's round, the way you made that pole.
There's a discontinuity from the shadowcast and the edge of the foreground. Just make the shadow on the wall continuosly at the bottom.

It's a good blend. Use the Ctrl J overlay, lower oppacity trick to enhace it, or just play on curves.

You can use displacement map to make it look like it's posted on the wall ( you can find tutorials online about this). You might have to make some adjustments manually.

Lol. Why so many light sources ? Wouldn't just one make it more dramatic? And if you make the background green-ish it would say "poison" more since back in the days the green colour for painting was derived from arsenic -that's why they say Napoleon died, he loved that color.)

The texture in Step 2 was looking closer to the original waz, but on a second thought if you want him to look like a car ran him over, just add another parallel light source (looking like car headlights ), adjust the shadow and make some tire marks on him and on the ground, if you can. As arathion said, the expression is priceless.

Waz eye is usually round with a bigger iris, but this is original and well done!

To reduce the effect of distortion made by the angle of shot, you can use Perspective Crop.
Select crop, drag selection on the photo, and a little menu bar will appear above: Shield color, opacity and the perspective box. Check the box and drag the sides of the crop selection so that they follow the horizontal lines on your picture that should be parallel. Once you press enter the image will be distorted so that it nullifies the unwanted perspective.
