The paint in the last banner should end at the tip of the brush, imo. (That part behind the brush should be erased.
(5 years and 3137 days ago)You have some nice banners, but I'm not a fan of the first one: when you say addicted you don't associate with gray, maybe with red instead, or a more vibrant color.
The photography banner has a painted camera, i think you're allowed to use stock for this contest, if so, maybe a real camera would fit better - if not, make some Polaroid pictures in photoshop.. or a photographic film.
Good luck!
I could have bet money that only a guy can see a chicks butt in a gun's wooden handle.
(5 years and 3138 days ago)So tell me.. did I lose the bet ?
Great execution & I like that you even framed the image using bits of the source. I would have loved to see her hair made of many thin metal tubes, but on the other hand it would have competed with the butt (LOL) and it would be time consuming as well.
Good chop!
I love red & white stripes, they can make everything look sexy or sweet
(5 years and 3138 days ago)It's one good idea.
(5 years and 3138 days ago)Besides what mossy said, i don't get why the bevel on PXL seems blurry, i think there's a setting there ( in layer styles) to make it look more solid, if you can't manage to find it, you might wanna solve that manually.
I see some edges are bumpy (meaning not straight) and I don't know if you did it on purpose to make it look older, or they are just masking problems. Don't give up!
oh, i get it, she's "making" a bubble bath, funny.
(5 years and 3138 days ago)In nature, the bubbles reflect the environment around. In your case they look like bubbles reflecting the windows from the right.
Since your environment is outdoors bubbles should reflect the sun, a small spot of light , something like this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/9758390@N05/2250882669/
You see here that the sun is also passing through, so you'll have two white spots.
Also it would be super realistic if you could place a reflection of a photographer in the bubbles.
The anatomy of his arms is perfect, that's why I don't get how come his chest muscles are asymmetrical, his right pectoral being smaller than his left.
(5 years and 3138 days ago)It's almost like the torso was semi profile, like this picture of me :http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/0066/0f6f596f-f177-487d-ac53-d2c8b5f5e1c4.jpg and you tried to warp it for a front.
The light on him comes from the front while the sun in setting in the back, etc, etc..
Dude, there are too many mistakes to point them out here, without discouraging you ( i will if you insist) - so i suggest you try something simpler first:
for example, making a man with that statue's head, by using stock and blending. If you succeed you add a simple background first, then some additional element and so on.
When I saw it on the front page, I was thinking: that's a nice photo, I now see It's an awesome DD.
(5 years and 3139 days ago)Masterwork!
(5 years and 3139 days ago)I'm not sure what 'star' means,( I though Chinese, not Soviet), and I'm not sure why you used sepia, either.
(5 years and 3139 days ago)In case you wanted to make it look like an old photo from the big war, I would suggest adding some scratches, imperfections, maybe some decoloration (dodge) on the edges, to make it authentic. Good luck.
Nice construction, I tried to do this once, it took me hours, got bored and never submitted
(5 years and 3139 days ago)Glad to see you had the patience.
When i chopped I was getting inspired by this: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/177048 & other similar pics on sxc.
Maybe you had some reference pics as well - there's no shame in admitting & posting them.
It's not like we can invent tanks, with so many details without help, and no sane voter will pretend that..
It's funny cause their faces make you laugh, but I don't get what's behind it, maybe it's an inner joke i missed. Any description?
(5 years and 3139 days ago)Off topic: Missy's back ..from jail... yey!!!
Good work & nice mood. The bubbles in the back(right) seem a bit distorted and therefor flat.
(5 years and 3139 days ago)Try to fix it, if you can.
Edit: Yup it was right side, not left ,sorry. Thank Kellie.
Author is partially right,Mossy, you always sound way too serious when commenting, that's cause you never use smileys and have no avatar (anti-social written all over ).
(5 years and 3139 days ago)Although I honestly dislike when someone points to my mistakes even though they are 100% right (and they even use smileys and avatar), the thing i hate the most is having a low or average score and no one telling me why.
You should be (somehow) glad that Mossy commented and believe that she has no hidden interest in making you feel bad. And she was pretty much right, so..if you have time, you could try to improve your entry.
Fabulous work, nice blending of images. I especially like that you took the time to make her dress looking like it's dragged on the stairs. That's one master detail !
(5 years and 3140 days ago)Nice construction. You could overlay a bit of or red & gold for a better blend, and to make bridge stand out, by contrast.
(5 years and 3140 days ago)Another thing that would really help is human scale, either people walking on the bridge or a small boat in the foreground. That would make the viewer better perceive the dimensions of the bridge.
Well done, beautiful sketch.
(5 years and 3140 days ago)Man, this is awesome, beautiful composition, and contrast, everything!
(5 years and 3140 days ago)Beautiful shot.
(5 years and 3140 days ago)I agree, it's a splendid landscape. In color it would be a wallpaper!
(5 years and 3140 days ago)Very good painting, i like the blending.
(5 years and 3140 days ago)Thanks man, useful SBS. There are some minor masking problems on the chicks arm. You should blur those arm edges a bit too.
(5 years and 3141 days ago)I would also put a small glint in the birds eye, like there is in the original source, but a bit more brighter, so the parrot looks more "alive".
Really good, I love the effects - if you can't upload an SBS at least explain in a comment or description your technique. Many folks would like to hear that.
(5 years and 3141 days ago)WoAwesome work! Thanks for the animated SBS, really convincing work.
(5 years and 3141 days ago)Congrats, well deserved!
(5 years and 3141 days ago)First of all, you've got some talent with those clouds ; turning a common cloudy image into some epic background is something!
(5 years and 3141 days ago)Who cares about the fire, there's a naked girl with dramatic sky behind her!!
j/k
"It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah"
You could represent "broken" by cracking the stand, but for "cold" it would take some work blending snow & icicles on that base.
If you have time you should give it a try, it would be enhanced by the lyrics in the description.
LOL!
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Cool drawing!
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Breathtaking shot!
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Inspiring shot, I agree with hamze, i can almost feel the salty smell of freedom

(5 years and 3143 days ago)I love it!
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Smart! Next time try different angles and BG colors, cause it's a great idea but the execution can be improved.
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Agree with friiskiwi.
(5 years and 3143 days ago)Now that's one interesting black sheep, especially cause it's white
