I think the dolphin knows what he"s doing, and if he would have felt discomfort, he would have retreated in the depths.
(5 years and 3173 days ago)Nice shot!
(5 years and 3173 days ago)Good job author, really convincing work.
(5 years and 3173 days ago)I like the drawing style & the colors you used.
(5 years and 3173 days ago)Nice blend.
(5 years and 3173 days ago)Lol, this is cool & funny !
(5 years and 3174 days ago)I like that wall a lot and how you blended so that texture won't repeat.
And i would like to take advantage of this opportunity to bash photoexpress where new members can't download for free: bash! bash! bash!.
Good luck author.
Really nice sketch and good build upon.
(5 years and 3174 days ago)You should have merged some steps together, 44 is a lot! :O
Great blend, i like it. You should have cropped it, though, i hope you know you can edit entries up until Friday.
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Not bad at all !
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Pretty cool design.
(5 years and 3174 days ago)In CG there's a concept named "density"= meaning the amount and quality of the texture applied in the image.
Graphic designer try to level the overall density so that their works won't look photoshop/collage.
The main density rupture in this entry is that everything besides the creature is blurry, and most we can see more details on the creature than on the foreground, even if they are both part of the focal point.
Some people use noise/fog brushes to create atmosphere and level the density.
I hope my comment is coherent enough and helps. Congrats on your awesome color palette!
I remember Meteora, the landscape is breathtaking.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Colored skin is sexy! I'm glad you decided to do that!
(5 years and 3176 days ago)You could also try to color up her hair, make it blonde-ish so that it relates to the shield.
And if you have time, try to experiment with some grass, some sky, like she's sitting on a rock at the edge of a cliff. Maybe you can even find a nice castle stock and place it on a far hill in the background.
You can improve this a lot!
Yup, either change font or make it white ( maybe both).
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Not bad! You should however blur the edges.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)The easiest way is:
1. Ctrl click on the separate layer thumbnail to select it.
2. go to selection modify contract by 1 or 2 pxl depending on the image size.
3. Ctrl I to invert selection.
4. Use gaussion blur & from Edit you can fade the effect if you think it's too much.
IMO you would need to blur edges on all items in your composition so i hope you kept them on different layers.
Good luck.
The source is so easy to miss in this chop, i was ready to redflag it.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Why don't you crop it to make it more obvious ?
Very funny, you even added hair bits to the razor, now that's what i call "attention to details"!
(5 years and 3176 days ago)LOL
(5 years and 3176 days ago)A screen overlay for more brightness would improve this nice & funny chop. Good thinking.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Lovely mood, and great explanations in the SBS. You should check it out folks, there's stuff you can learn from there.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)For better realism, you should eliminate the lines on the edges, and use burn/dodge to create different surfaces. In real life there are no lines, only lighted & shadowed planes.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Also work on the perspective. Find the horizon line and make those construction lines converge towards it.
Finding a stock with a hand for handling the sword, would improve the quality of your entry.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)You could also think of a different background since cloud render is too obvious here. GL
Very well done, nice effort on the details!
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Great work, awesome skills.
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Fabulous mood, great robot construction!
(5 years and 3177 days ago)Nice source find. However you need some adjustments:
(5 years and 3178 days ago)1.You should work out a background. BG matters a lot in giving the context & mood of an entry.
2. You could use some color on her skin & hair - this will be fun and might give a "painting" feel to it.
3.An SBS would help some to appreciate your efforts more.
That's it for know, if you need more I'll be around.
You can edit your entries in My Stuff - My Contest Entries until the deadline.

I don't really get what you're mad about:
(5 years and 3180 days ago)- comments discouraging authors ?
-stock sites that want you to pay? ( like those bastards from photoexpress who no longer give free stocks to new users)
- this site's guidelines ?
- the grammar of the English language ? ( you should see French grammar!)
Anyways, good luck with your protest, i would however take all these issues one by one:
one poor entry for comments , one entry for stock and so on.
Nice concept & design.
(5 years and 3180 days ago)You should check Arca's article about composition in the new PXL Magazine issue ( you'll find it on the forum).
Your vase+ flowers+ picture, cut the image in half- which is not that nice.
There are also vids on youtube about composition and those would help a lot too.
Awesome render!
(5 years and 3180 days ago)You could have:
(5 years and 3181 days ago)-worked on some background- maybe using the wood as a table or some stone.
- make it look like an old papyrus and use/create more complex shapes.
But remember, Always have a background , a context for your main piece ! I learned that the hard way.
Pretty cool design ! I look forward to the day when your entries won't be so easily recognizable, but still looking awesome.
(5 years and 3181 days ago)Funny song, lmao!
(5 years and 3181 days ago)When I try to visualize the video, i see something darker with red vines of lava , many broken chains, etc, etc. Oh, and WIND en masse !
I'm not sure what you originally visualized and the entry looks pretty positive here, anyways thx for sharing the song.
Splendid shot !
(5 years and 3181 days ago)I get it, and I believe you author. If you think you might have problems with the mods ( hope not), redflag your own entry and give the link to your account on deviant saying these are my own brushes, DO NOT REMOVE ENTRY !!
(5 years and 3181 days ago)That should work, and keep your anonymity as well.
Awesomely done, I really like your brushes.
(5 years and 3182 days ago)Besides what Dan said, an SBS about your brushes would prove that they are made by you, cause right now we have only your word.
Maybe I'm wrong about the method , I can guess you made them out of thresholded water splash, so if you could post the original pics, that would help.
Lol, I'm glad you have the sense of humour., author.
(5 years and 3182 days ago)Nice work, except the repetition of the birds flock ( you could delete some of them so they won't be identical), and the mask problems on the foreground.
(5 years and 3182 days ago)The rest is good!
You have INTERNET, why would you need anything else !?
(5 years and 3183 days ago)Use another layer with some gradient to cover the horizon. You could also blur the sand there, and make it look like the sand is blending into the sky.
Take for example this:
www.pxleyes.com/photoshop-picture/4d31871c335dc/The-Passage-of-Time.html
You know the horizon is there, but you can't see a straight separation line, which does not hurt the composition by making the image look split in half .
For those wondering, I think you have to use displacement map for the reflection, distort -ripple might work too, but whenever i used displace on water it looked marvelous.
(5 years and 3183 days ago)Then you could try edit - fade displace if you want less of that effect.
Maybe author can help more.
Like gornats implied, that position is open to interpretation , people might ask if Stone is pawning or pounding Fire.
(5 years and 3183 days ago)I wish i could help with a better stock source but all Ranum's wrestlers have the same issue.
In case you wanna change it, you could search for judo stock or try using this :
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/172104
Transform + rotate ? Ctrl T and mouse. Or distort.. hmm.
(5 years and 3184 days ago)"ANYTHING related to cola" = pepsi-cola, so it's on theme. Beautiful one.
(5 years and 3185 days ago)I can't talk for k56, but :
(5 years and 3186 days ago)You could explore that opposition theme: with the guys looking at each other, only remove the grid and use (maybe) some ice- something like frozen water but which is transparent at some points so that we can recognize his reflection.
You could also use contrasting colors orange/blue and some fog in the horizon.
Damn, I miss photoshop!
Hey man, for realism you could add some wires in the back plan as well, and maybe you can find some reference for paint/blood drop on water cause i doubt it makes a star.
(5 years and 3186 days ago)Maybe this helps, idk : www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ-AX1G0SmY
There's a masking problem on the sky, I think a layer got out of place ( left side of the image right above where the wing finishes). It's pretty obvious actually even in low res.
(5 years and 3186 days ago)Besides that, you have a nice entry with a good mood and a nice compositional triangle: sun in the clouds, man's butt (cause of warm color contrast + taboo ) and the white feather. You could even crop from the left, and it would still look fit.
Splendid work!
(5 years and 3186 days ago)It a quite well done manipulation, but the glass has no thickness in the empty side. Take any google image as reference and you'll see what's missing:
(5 years and 3186 days ago)http://raindeocampo.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/glass-half-full.jpg
I voted 100 cause it has only 400 views but it deserves a hell lot more, so i hope it wins!
(5 years and 3186 days ago)How did you do that ?
(5 years and 3186 days ago)
