Funny creature . Apart from above comments, I'd recommend to use the texture of the source image to fill the creature's body/head and the leaf. If you do so, then try not to overstretch the texture (thought that's personal, I like it if the texture is still recognizable). Good luck!

Fantastic little creature! Really good job! Maybe try to experiment with adding a background from the source, maybe it's just enough to add a bit of the source and then blur it, just to give it a background. Great job though!!

The shadows are wrong. It's hard in the back and blurry in front and the head doesn't have a shadow, but the cones do. FYI: entries with only source used and no SBS get removed.

as artists we all have ideas and i too think this image would shine if the horse was a unicorn.... In stating that i love your creativity and the image you have created.
