i have not tried this tutorial however, it is : how to apply textures to uneven surfaces. it may give you an idea on how to improve your entry.http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/photo-effects-tutorials/how-to-apply-textures-to-uneven-surfaces/ ... my feed back would be that a stone statue would not have a hairy beard. good entry more skills would produce a great entry. all the best.

agreed with cmyk, and about the filters, try not to use filters for the sake of using them. filters were designed to enhance, or manipulate an effect, not the filter being THE EFFECT. for example, i may use the plastic wrap filter for a shine effect where there would be water and erase the parts that dont belong, by applying it as a smart filter and masking out the parts that dont look right. but your new, and you will catch on. if you have any questions about technique, send me a message, and maybe i can help you out. i see some potential here, thats why i ask (not this entry, but in general) i know lots of tutorial sites you could find quite useful... one of my favs being www.psdtuts.com also, this site has hundreds if not thousands of tutorials created by users on here, so you get a mix of the pro stuff and the amature stuff, but its well rounded and nice to check out from time to time.

Hard edge on hair is distracting, and it's a bit too filter heavy, but over all not bad...

color and texture work is amazing, it would be ghost like if it wasn't so solid.. though it's not very ugly.. it's almost elegant

Very nice, different idea, my suggestion would be to add a small, soft shadow sandwiched between the layer of the man and the ston, to create depth. Good luck!

Good Work ., IMO could change the entire thing into stone, than to leave a little piece of Flesh and eye., that would look even better, Try it and if tat was compromising, u could chage it on ur wish ., also the crack on the beard will be bending in, when u think in 3D reality, but now its just plain.,

It's nice, but to make it seem more like a heart, maybe use a layer mask to blend the two together..not sure what they're called in english but the spanish is 'Uchuba'. Good luck!

Agree with Golem...though well done...I'm not sure it fits the theme of caricature, which relies heavily on exaggerating features.

It's a fun pic, but everything in the background would have a motion blur! Fix this and your pic will rock!
(And the black outline on the dopey sun doesn't help...).

this is very well done, but I'm not to sure it's up to theme.. though i do think the method is wonderful.. caricatures are suppose to be an exaggeration of the real.. but I still think this is very nice work.. good luck author
