I really like this one! The tones you used are wonderful!
(5 years and 3047 days ago)well, tell your wife you did this ARTISTICALLY.
(5 years and 3048 days ago)and next time wait for the elastic marks from your boxers to go away. or use a healing brush.
either way, nicely played.
Ooooh my. What a big lens you have.
(5 years and 3049 days ago)Are you compensating for something? Lol.
But really! Wow. You guys keep getting braver and braver...this ones got public nudity! Hopefully a controlled environment just in case someone came walking up behind you!
I'm really loving how far you guys are going with this. And I want the signed edition of the men of pxl calendar.
Ummmm. Check my portfolio. I actually am not JUST a photographer. you might surprise yourself to know that photomanipulations are my main reason for being here.
(5 years and 3049 days ago)My advice was constructive and not insulting. I would still like to see a high res and an sbs. In high res I am sure I could get a better grasp on why you remain so set on leaving the lamps as in focus as they are while the rest of your background is such a blur.
And..that little white thing...likely a remnant from some erasing on one of your layers...its driving me crazy.
Your work is nice, but none of us are perfect.
i do love this image. is there a hi res/sbs?
(5 years and 3050 days ago)and, i am going to be the person to agree with cmyk a little on this one.
if you want the lanterns to be further into the background as to not put a light reflection onto the girl, then they need to match the blurring done to the background and give it more depth. also adding some of that yellow lighting to the walls so that it "fits".
if you choose to leave them where they are, then they would leave some yellow lighting on the girl. not ALOT but there would be some.
there is a strange white-ish artifact on the viewers right hand side, also.
the angle and the crop of this makes it very fun, interesting, and so YOU.
(5 years and 3051 days ago)nice to see you!!
i like it. its bold and the pose is very dramatic. the absence of face is a nice touch...and the wild hair adds to that drama. i like how the chair matches the checkering of the wall!
(5 years and 3051 days ago)i keep wanting to say it would better if you had your whole head in the shot, but the cropping is actually growing on me.
great idea!
(5 years and 3051 days ago)however...the realist in me says, you are shaving with your eyes closed and a glass of wine in one hand, with very dim lighting. I'm thinking that could be quite dangerous. and perhaps thats why men shouldn't shave.
interesting book choice. i figured you for more of the intellectual, not the romance novels with sultry men on the cover sort of reader. guess i was wrong
Author, I'm surprised! I love your lighting and the dramatic shadows. You've done amazing at replicating the famous pose of the thinker.
(5 years and 3053 days ago)I can't help but to think...you have tattoos! I am not as shocked by it as excited, and would love to know the stories behind your ink choices. I believe every tattoo has some story behind it, and usually tells A LOT about the person.
And...men of pxl calendar was mentioned...I can't wait! If we could only get 12 amazing entries!
Whooooooa. What a lucky time to start being active on the photography side, eh ladies?
(5 years and 3053 days ago)You boys are brave! And I have to applaud on such artistic vision in the pose. Its graceful, and strong...and very reminisant of classic sculptures by the masters.
And most of all! Tasteful. Nicely played.
Fabulous. I really love this!
(5 years and 3053 days ago)this one is great. i love the idea behind it. nicely done!
(5 years and 3055 days ago)I really love this. The image just gives a very good feeling...I can almost smell autumn as I look at this. Well done, and good luck!
(5 years and 3067 days ago)Clematis flowers! My mom grows these all over the yard. My favorite variation is the white petals with purple inside.
(5 years and 3067 days ago)good luck!
The color of this is amazing! I really like this
(5 years and 3067 days ago)Just wanted to let you know that you did a fantastic job! I wish that my first attempts at digital drawing were near as good. Hope to see you enter more!
(5 years and 3074 days ago)Congratulations on your first place! I'm so proud to see this! *hugs*
(5 years and 3078 days ago)Congratulations! Well deserved!
(5 years and 3102 days ago)Congrats on 3rd place. This is a beautiful portrait, and the focus is astounding!
(5 years and 3102 days ago)Congrats on first place! Awesome capture, beautiful colors!
(5 years and 3102 days ago)Congrats! 140 entries and you made top three! Definitely an amazing entry.
(5 years and 3102 days ago)I love the tones you used in this. Lends to an almost sci fi feeling, along with a soft feeling. Nicely done!
(5 years and 3103 days ago)the transformation on this one is awesome. very well done. and great use of liquify!!! Good luck!
(5 years and 3105 days ago)that is odd. there is an extra foot and knee back there. where did the rest of the body go?
(5 years and 3108 days ago)awesome capture!!!!!!
(5 years and 3111 days ago)Awesome IR shot! Do you use a filter or a converted camera? And if you are using a conversion, what kind of camera?
(5 years and 3134 days ago)This is absolutely beautiful. One more question...is this straight out of the camera, or did you do any post processing like channel swapping? I just really love IR photography and am always curious as to how people get their results!
cheers to you for being the ONLY entrant. and a good entry all the same.
(5 years and 3153 days ago)nicely done!!!
Oh my gosh! This is so....gooey!
(5 years and 3155 days ago)Its so surreal! And what a great color pallet! I love the egg colors!
(5 years and 3155 days ago)ahhh! a day by the pool! i'm jealous.
(5 years and 3161 days ago)nice shot, and classy posing.. but... i knew who you were.
whoa.
(5 years and 3161 days ago)yeah..that surprised me. nice shot!
boobs? whoa now. let me again say that... BOOTS.
(5 years and 3162 days ago)and you know..her outfit reminds me of austin powers...fembots... *giggle*
HAHAHHAHA!! oh dear..i think you've got something on your tooth... errrr...teeth. *giggle* nicely done!
(5 years and 3162 days ago)ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! OMG. i wouldn't have known it was you! this is great!
(5 years and 3162 days ago)i want her boots.
(5 years and 3163 days ago)aside from that...its a shame that your background wasn't better suited. i love her style and all that, but..the guys in the background throw it off. a clean background and a full shot of the bike with her atop it...of course, emphasis on her..would have been a great shot.
wow.
(5 years and 3163 days ago)this is definitely what i expected from this contest. something JUST LIKE THIS!
well done. and i love the focus. truly meant for an advertisement in some jewelers catalog!
i see what you were trying to attempt. my problem with it is, you have lost alot of the features. it seems like your high key attempt just washed out almost the entirety of the image. and what part of this is meant to show a "fashion"? i'm not saying its off topic, i'm just inquiring about what you were showcasing as your fashion in the shot.
(5 years and 3163 days ago)probably one of my favorites from the entire contest.
(5 years and 3163 days ago)i do agree on the hi-res. makes for a better vote, to be honest.
agreeing about the feet. a shot like this (being a pin up that is) should include the entire package.
(5 years and 3163 days ago)also... i'd consider bringing up the blacks. right now they seem a little washed out and noisy. which i'm sure you didn't intend.
and vogue...right, well they didn't do much with the classic pinups, more with catwalk style fashion. actually, it would be a great shot for a rebel rods mag if you had posed in front of an old roadster.
i liked the first rendition the best as well. gave it more.... distinction or something. its lost part of that appeal to me now.
(5 years and 3182 days ago)however, even that being said. its a great chop.
i agree with nisha. i like you concept, definitely, but just a few little things i might add... bringing some of the brick texture up onto the face to blend it in better...some shadows and stuff...and then, also, blur the horizon so it gives it more depth. also..and not to be picky, but just trying to help... i think the yellow of the stones going into the water is too bright. perhaps lower the saturation so it blends better with the image as a whole.
(5 years and 3182 days ago)growing up as an airforce brat, i have to say... this is AWESOME. i've seen them perform, and it brings back SOOO many memories. you had to have been just snapping away, because in all of their show, they have so many amazing formations. Great capture of this one!! and thank you for posting it.
(5 years and 3182 days ago)THIS IS AWESOME. i love the emotion pouring from it. granted, the upper left corner is really blown out, but... i just LOVE the shot. really do.
(5 years and 3185 days ago)Indeed! Congrats! Its quite artistic!
(5 years and 3186 days ago)congrats! This one was pretty funny!
(5 years and 3186 days ago)Congrats on second!
(5 years and 3186 days ago)Whoa. Author...I am surprised! And I like the mood. Well done!
(5 years and 3186 days ago)instant fav. gross humor and excellent chop! love it!
(5 years and 3196 days ago)i'm with pixelkid. its awesome blending, but it looks more like he has a skin condition
(5 years and 3196 days ago)and as soon as i saw it, i knew it was you.
(5 years and 3197 days ago)nicely captured though.
