I agree with the rest of them, your blending is astounding!! Well done, and good luck!
(5 years and 3249 days ago)Awwwww! Wow, this one is awesome. Love the whimsy...the little people and their mailbox homes. It story book quality. good luck!
(5 years and 3249 days ago)Shadows and shading would have made this better, sure...but...what an interesting take on the source! I was waiting for some steampunk styling to come out of those rusty mailboxes!
(5 years and 3249 days ago)Hey, I thought I recognized that style. always nice to see your work, and this is very imagenative use of the source! (Coming from you I really expect no less than that though )
(5 years and 3249 days ago)I'm with everyone else. Id love to leave an original comment, but its all been said already! You really did do a convincing job of creating this one!
(5 years and 3249 days ago)Hahahah oh wow author! You did a fabulous job here! I love the little gnome trailor park
(5 years and 3249 days ago)I think the surrealist aspect of this piece is astounding. The blending of the sources is well done, and I personally love that the wings are unaffected by the flames, like the mythological pheonix. However, it would change the entire mood of the piece if they were. A few tatters and perhaps some loose feathers perhaps set to flame along the edges...would dramatically change the entire mood. It would go from an enlightening surreal with a hopeful tone to a dark surreal laced with defeat. I have to say I like the feelings it portrays now, but can also see its counterpart as well.
(5 years and 3250 days ago)Wow! Author I love this. The colors youve chosen are spectacular, especially love your vision of your lights. The depth you've given to the trees is great, as is the textures. You've really captured the magic of natures beauty.
(5 years and 3250 days ago)arrrrgh!! i hate watercolors. so unpredictable and uncontrollable. however, i LOVE what you've managed to do with them!!!! this is LOVELY. and i love the depth you've managed to get with the medium. Best of luck with this one author!!
(5 years and 3251 days ago)Your style is a trademark, however, this is a little odd, even for you! nice way to captivate your audience.
(5 years and 3253 days ago)I am happy I'm not alone in wondering how you came up with this idea....
It looks like a product advertisement! Awesome!
(5 years and 3253 days ago)Author, I love the feeling you portrayed with this image. I especially love the dual reflection, both in the mirror and in the tabletop You shot it on. The lighting is great, adds to that lonely feeling. Good luck with this one!
(5 years and 3253 days ago)i'd know that half smile anywhere.
(5 years and 3253 days ago)i didn't even have to vote this one. and of course, it goes without saying, my new favorite of the contest!!! i love how different all of the entries are from each other. its amazing to see how many "hearts" we can all come up with!!!
(5 years and 3253 days ago)as for this one, you rock. i LOVE it. >.> 2'x4' ??? DANG man. thats a big'un.
hey, first place! and third place too!! congrats on this one
(5 years and 3255 days ago)i love the effect in the mirror. awesome job.
(5 years and 3255 days ago)I love the blue tones. And the detail is amazing! Great idea!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Hehehehe what's for dinner?? Is it done yet? lovely work! Reminds me of comic style drwing in the new yorker or something. Good luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)This is great! love the look, and the title of the book in your hand makes me giggle! Best of luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Ooooh wow its you! nicely done, and I really like how you painted the hair! Looks great! Good luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Wow author! We are of the same birth year! That's neat to learn good luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)awesome!!! And I love all the information you gave as well. Beautiful entry, and I am surprised by the author.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)i think there needs to be a point of focus somewhere closer to the viewer. as it is, it seems the only thing in focus is the box.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)your subject is oof. perhaps try reshooting, and use a manual focus to get the pencils clearly in view.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)awesome find author! good luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)author, you might remove the text from your photo, as its not allowed in photography contests.
(5 years and 3258 days ago) yeah, very clever.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)author, it would be a really good idea to rotate your picture so its upright.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Awwww! Such a nice sentiment thank you so much! I am on the mend, even though I slept the entire evening/night after I got off work. I think I was sicker than I gave in to.
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Thank you again author....you've made me smile, which as every one knows, is a good medicine.
Btw...how many hearts are in that?? And acrylics?
still my favorite one. its beautiful. congratulations little one.
(5 years and 3263 days ago)hahahah this is awesome!!!
(5 years and 3264 days ago)you really are branching out aren't you author???
well done, and the hat is a great touch...btw, that smile is priceless.
i like this one's concept...however, (and this is just a personal opinion) i do think another medium would have suited it so much better. the sporadicness of colored pencil doesn't suit the colors you were using.
(5 years and 3264 days ago)however, the design is awesome, and if i were you i'd consider doing a large version painted in acrylics and give it the justice it deserves well thought, and good luck
this is a great abstract! i love the bright colors and the consistent strokes you used. I have never had good luck with getting my oils to turn out so vibrant, so i give you mad props for that.
(5 years and 3264 days ago)Nicely done, and Best of luck!
i think this one is the closest to a picasso yet. i like it.. the colors are astounding..and the fever at which you painted it shows in the brush strokes. good luck.
(5 years and 3265 days ago)My absolute favorite character!
(5 years and 3265 days ago)HAHAHAH! OMG! reminds me of the cowardly lion from the wizard of oz!!!
(5 years and 3265 days ago)and a little iron maiden too i'm sure.
(5 years and 3266 days ago)nicely done.
i love the insane smile on the guy.
THIS is awesome. i love eddie murphy!!!
(5 years and 3266 days ago)give your shots really different titles or they will be pulled because you are giving away who the author is by keeping them so close in names!
(5 years and 3266 days ago)awesome shots though.
reminds me very much of mexico's celebration "Day of the Dead"....your color choices are great, and ....the brush strokes you used show alot of passion. some of it is sort of scary passion, but.... its still wonderful.
(5 years and 3267 days ago)also, the way you did the background in one direction, and the skull in the circular directionality...it really sets it off. Great job. and good luck.
Why the thumbs down to compliments?
(5 years and 3269 days ago)I hope not to receive one for saying that I like the mood you captured with this. Pastels? Nice blending of colors, and best of luck.
actually ade..the floor might be the same, but the shoes are NOT.
(5 years and 3269 days ago)i'm a woman, i notice those things.
Congrats on your second place it was close!!!! and what an awesome second place!
(5 years and 3269 days ago)Congratulations to you !!! a FIRST place! and so well worth it. i scored it pretty good. nice to see someone mix their traditionals with the digital.
(5 years and 3269 days ago)there are actually many benifits behind the high heel shoe.
(5 years and 3269 days ago)you'd be surprised some of the facts.
I'ma sucker for them. my fascination became obsession LONG ago.
LMAO
(5 years and 3272 days ago)link for cs5.
wow. if it were only that easy.
i'm running old cs2 and i can even get a half way reasonable "warp" to things to make them appear more realistic.
...your texture...is way too heavy. looses the detail in what you are trying to portray here, not to mention, makes it hard to see what exactly you did with blending the "desert" to the "daffodils" . there is a "mood" element to it, but because of this heavy overlay it makes it entirely too distracting. also, your "rain" layer could be softened a little bit.
(5 years and 3272 days ago)i hope you don't take this wrong, because i'm only trying to help your vision along...i haven't voted, but i'm sure who you are so i think you'll take my critique the way it is intended.
i keep coming back to this. gee i wonder why,. i don't think anyone has ever drawn me so well...i mean...i think you may have made me look way better than i really do.
(5 years and 3274 days ago)the hair....i swear you made me have AWESOME hair. i still am in awe of this.
i'm gonna say, yes..her hands do look a little wonky. just how they meet to the wrist and stuff...positioning is right, there is just some adjustments that could have been made. you seem like you want a critique, so i'm only saying what i see. i think you'd be happier if you skinnied up her wrist on the arm in the fore...just where it meets up with the hand.
(5 years and 3275 days ago)NOT that i'm any good at that angle or whatnot...you did a fabulous job with this,a nd i'm betting you made a friend of yours very happy with this.
keep amazing me with your work. i love seein the things you come to the table with.
you do have quite the style don't you. i really like the way you did the flesh tones on this one...the tummy particularly. her naval area is AWESOME.
(5 years and 3275 days ago)the nose is the only thing that seems a bit offish on this and...honestly i HATE doing noses. and hands/fingers. feet too. :P okay, anyway....i like this...she's got charisma. and the green you chose for her eyes is awesome
