I don't think its a problem with the proximity to the track or the lens.. they all seem to be fine.. when i shoot an event that i normally don't shoot, or have never shot, I get there early and scout out photo locations that will work for what I want. Just takes a lil practice and time... you will be fine, at least your trying... keep it up you will get there... can't get that award winner without trying. Keep shooting

the action itself is nice... the ladies are a bit dark and it would of been better to get them running at you and given them more running room into the picture and not out of it.

a great concept, but the tree is a lil underexposed and it is to centered. If possible maybe you can do some photo "magic" to enhance the colors and maybe crop it so the tree isn't in the center of the image, try making it a vertical. Keep shooting, and thanks for sharing such a beautiful scenary.

The highlights at the top are quite blown, Have you considered cropping the image just below the blown highlights, makes for a much more powerful image.

HDR has it's place, but here you have evened the tones out so much that you have ended up a photo, where nothing is of special interest.
