A bit dark, and you can't really see the ceiling, it's just a black shape dominating the photo. You could crop it down by half, and straighten out the photo at the ceiling line (it's tilting down to the left), and strengthen this considerably.

That sounds just great, unfortunately we have the worlds toughest customs when it comes to food imports. Being a small island away from everything we are scared of getting any type of bugs. Appreciate the offer, but I will have to wait till I get to Europe. What are they called?

I really like the color scheme of this photo. The cork is a great focal point, with the lines and shapes wonderfully interactive to move the eye around the composition and back to the cork. Very nice job!

Hard to appreciate it in black and white. It could be a rock, it could be a moldy fig...Just not enough visual contrast for all the subtle tones in hazlenuts.
Some things truly are better in color, in my opinion...

I would have guessed a prune, never seen an olive like that, have to try one some time.

MossyB, I think your judgement on photos are very good, you are also very good at putting into words what is good about them.Keep it up. Saying that you can't judge photos because you can't take them is like saying you can't tell if food is good if you don't cook.
