I think that seeing you were using a macro lens you need a larger f number and longer shutter speed. Macros have a very shallow DOF which is why your image appears soft (not as sharp as it could be)

Soft means it's not quite sharp, focus is a little soft.

Interesting idea and I applaud you for changing the time on the clock to match the 'story' of the title/image combination, but backlit objects at night are going to be dark in the foreground. Ergo the tower and the roof expanse should be primarily a silhouette. Instead, the right-side dormers appear to be lit from the middle left and the tower (except for the cupola top) from the front. Window glow [Step 7 of SBS] is grossly overdone, IMO.

There's two books but your focus is on the one sitting on top of the other, hence probably making it look like there is only 1 book at first glance. Another book on top of the Serpico would have helped or a different POV.

I definitely see two books, but I'm not sure I see the relationship between an atlas, a globe (maps) and Serpico ( a story about corruption in the NYPD)

I actually see it sitting on an open book ( a map book of sorts)....
