Sorry, this is a nice shot, but it isn't a "texture."

Nice, but if you were going to do rust I would have found something much more corroded and zoomed in to really show the bump texture

I think the black background is fine, if it was cropped out, I think the smoke would look like it was created in software.

k5683 - it is a photographers responsibilty to shoot both the good and the bad in the world. The theme is 'neighbourhood' - if this it what represents the authors neighbourhood then it deosn't necessarily make it a bad photo - sad maybe - I am sure not everyone is surrounded by castles and rolling hills.

Check out the hi res. Logo doesn't get in the way there.

Yeah, but texture is all almost identical... This has black background, it could be a texture if it is zoomed in the smoke only. But this is okay...Who cares? By the way, it's an awesome shot!

great idea, and I feel for you, but the DOF is a bit too shallow, for my liking.

I'm kinda new at the photography thing but, in contrast to previous comments, I think this has a good feel to it. It's light and wispy as opposed to heavy and chunky but it has a "feel" nonetheless. IMHO
