I like how you put a different twist on it. Instead of dark and weird, you made it fun. I don't know much about it because I don't use photoshop, but what about trying to use the mapping? to make the paint flow better on the face along the curves like in his ear area? Or maybe even give the paint an edge because as it is, it looks like it was airbrushed on, not painted with a paintbrush. Just a suggestion to make it AWESOME

you should probably remove that link because it makes it so it is not annonymous anymore. Do this though. Go to the top where it says "My Stuff" and click on "my contest entries" and find this entry and edit it. at the bottom, you'll see a box that says something like "upload high resolution". Check that box. What is does is puts the original edited (the one you have here) in a spot where people can look at the full version ( a big size), not just the small size here.

Even though I can't see the rest of the photo, I am supposing that no matter what, this kids face would be the subject, so really 40 % of this kids face should be cropped. I had mine removed too and had to fix it and I realized afterward what was meant by cropping the subject. I think what the mods are looking for is cropping 40% of the subject or focal point.

there are a lot of rules here. usually the members help out and the mods will just temporarily remove it usually until you can fix it. It really is best though to read the rules and guidelines here because there is so much that is not aloud and it would save you hassle in the long run. Put your cursor over HELP at the top, then click on Rules and Guidelines. Read the general rules there and then if you plan to mess around with the photography side of this site, click on Photography and you'll get specific rules there for photos and what is and is not allowed. :_)

I think it is a bit too much too. I would tone it down just a hair.

wow! when I first started looking at the top of this photo, I thought it wasn't going to be that great, but as my eye went down, it just flowed nicely and then bam, there's that guy sitting there. I really like how this photo just flows and keeps your eye moving. Is it a scanned photo? If so, I would try to clean up some of the scratches and dots in it.......hmmm maybe on the other hand that noise is what "makes" the picture though.

The first and foremost thing you should do when uploading photos here is make sure the quality is good. I don't mean to be rude, but this picture is very blurry. Can you reshoot a similar photo?

wow, this looks like a picture of a painting. Do you have a high resolution?

is this one of those vases where ther top looks waved? It looks like one that is turned upside down and an object put behind it. If so, I think this was a grea idea because it really looks deformed!

In my opinion, you've got too much going on in this picture. Maybe try to reshoot the picture with only the purple sandpaper showing with the feather in front of it--no blue wallpaper, no wood counter/table, and no whale showing.

I would have to say that I think this should have come one of the first!

Some photographers keep their techniques private for a reason I believe. It is what makes them stand out from others. Does a magician tell you how he does his best tricks? Remember this is also a contest site (meaning competition), so in my opinion author, it would be up to you to tell your secrets or not. If you do, then others are VERY lucky to learn from you

I really like how you fixed much of the blurriness to this...it looks A LOT better as far as that goes. The color is better but it is still so much different than the original.

what about trying to take a small portion of one of the less wrinkled parts of her face (maybe nose) and use that as a pattern for some texture in her face? Or just painstakingly put millions of tiny dots on her face for pores. lol

yes, cuteness is very subjective...he is a cute kid but the water in front of his face was getting more attention from my eye than the cuteness of him. Anyway, I am glad you changed it because I think this one is cute! I rate this one much much higher!

yeah that's what I was thinking too...that the wine had something to do with how the light caught the glass.

Is the lighting exactly the same for these two? Seems the first one's lighting isn't as nice as the second one. The detail is much clearer in the second. Great shot though!
