ahhhhh yes, I thought that's how it probably was done. I was actually just reading a cool website today that showed a similar technique with a hand that looked like it was holding a window that said "this is not photoshopped" all in front of a computer screen.

weird the way lighting works sometimes huh? I'm going to be honest with you...I redflagged this because I could have sworn you took a black soft brush to the eye sorry. I do believe you now though because I realized it can actually happen if the room is dark enough and the light reflected enough from your glasses onto the face just under the eyes. Sorry I didn't believe you at first *blushing* I still don't know who this is

the first thing I noticed was NOT the jewelry, it was the shadow on her beautiful face I like the concept of trying to make the emphasis more on the jewelry, but because it isn't sublte enough, the shadow overpowers the rest. Still a great shot though!

I have to agree with itsmymoment on this one because the man is a very handsome guy and his face isn't highlighted enough--it's kind of flat. But this is an awesome picture as it is! And I have to say that the posing is PERFECT! It looks natural and comfortable for him (I get OCD about posing sometimes)
edit: next time I would wipe off the back of his shirt though after posing him against things

I'm not sure what an "unko pose" is like ibmaxed said, but I think if you had the arm posed like that, then you shouldn't have done the hand holding the shoe. OR if you had her hold the shoe, you shouldn't have had her arm like that. It looks uncomfortable and unnatural. Would have been better with her mouth either closed or just a faint smile. Love the lighting, the fashion and everything else of this! I think it'll place high.

this is a great shot and great for the theme. I only have one nitpick....her elbow looks as though it should be on something because the way the arm is posed. It looks uncomfortable and unnatural. But I wouldn't go changing anything because this shot will do great!

I agree with the others but what caught my eye first was the crazy wild hair curling around her nose. She is a beautiful woman and that curl is just throwing it all off in my opinion.

I understand what you mean about the printing/copyright issues with the high resolution and for a neat work like this, I would feel the same. BUT, you have to take into consideration that some voters MAY vote lower for the simple fact that they can't see the WORK put into the photoshopping. Wrong or right, that's the chance you have to take.
I don't know enough about the droste effect but I always thought it was supposed to be an exact replica of the first image. Either way, I like this and believe you should frame it (no pun intended) and put it on a wall!

I would try adjusting the "levels" in this so that the black is blacker and the orange looks oranger. It looks really yellow right now but the sides look orange.
