is it a light under the piece or under the paper?
(5 years and 3167 days ago)I like this one
(5 years and 3167 days ago)was this entered in another contest already?
(5 years and 3167 days ago)wow, I could hardly see the passenger on the bike on the left. I saw an extra leg though LOL It must be a munchkin
(5 years and 3167 days ago)ooh oooh, this looks so familiar! Same style as an entry long ago that I just loved!
(5 years and 3168 days ago)By the way, I just want you, author, to know that this is a wonderful B&W and is VERY pretty even though I have gave my opinion on the HDR etc.
(5 years and 3168 days ago)true, but in digital, the results are so different. Seems everything I've looked at of Ansel Adams, there isn't that soft glow/blur and not the major ghosting like we have in digital HDR. Just like developing film is much different than printing a digital photo, different results.
(5 years and 3168 days ago)yes, very nice! The whites are not blown out and nothing looks overly post processed.
(5 years and 3169 days ago)this is very nice but you can tell it has been post processed in a digital program, which is not what Ansel Adams is really known for. IMO!
(5 years and 3169 days ago)the highlights and shadows are perfect so that the details are seen in everything. This is what I believe Ansel Adams had--not just a nice black and white. Most images can be turned into a nice black and white landscape, but this holds all the DETAIL by perfectly photgraphing the highlights and shadows.
(5 years and 3169 days ago)This looks familar; is it in the U.P. of Michigan?
(5 years and 3169 days ago)I agree with greymval. Instead of distorting them, just blur them more. And by the way, those are on the right, not the left. I would also blur the one on the lower left to match the depth of field (blurriness to explain it better). The overall picture is so wonderful! It is soothing to the eye and I love looking at it!
(5 years and 3169 days ago)I am probably one of the most sensitive people around....even I didn't think MossyB's comment was a "rough criticism" EVEN without smileys! Why should people have to put smileys after a sentence? How about people just think about the many ways the sentence can be construed and pick the most favorable one?! People always think the worst first. I think MossyB said things constructively politically correct!
(5 years and 3169 days ago)By the way author, I like the whole image except for the fingers. It looks as though the fingers have been burnt. I'm not sure if that is what you were going for, but it just doesn't look right
wow, great collection you have there!
(5 years and 3169 days ago)so much better!!!!!
(5 years and 3169 days ago)I actually think it accentuates it in a way because the bluish color in the counter compliments the blue in the art. There may have been other ways to photography this, but there's just something about it that soothes the eye.
(5 years and 3169 days ago)By the way, the crop is much better!
ibmaxed, that's what I was thinking too....that he was at a peep show
(5 years and 3169 days ago)oh I can just imagine the comments this will receive great picture by the way.
(5 years and 3169 days ago)hey! we all know you go commando now!!! LOL LOL LOL no undies in those jeans hee hee hee
(5 years and 3169 days ago)SOOOO much better!!!!
(5 years and 3169 days ago)I agree friiskiwi, you get the "feel" much better in HR
(5 years and 3169 days ago)Is this within short walking distance from your home?
(5 years and 3169 days ago)can you please explain this photo and what you were trying to portray?
(5 years and 3170 days ago)park next to your house?
(5 years and 3171 days ago)yeah, it looks like she's relaxing there, but later she won't be lol
(5 years and 3171 days ago)You relax at a restaurant on a daily basis? And it must be next to your house?
(5 years and 3171 days ago)oh how I'd love to see this tin with a black background
(5 years and 3171 days ago)I like this one
(5 years and 3171 days ago)Very pretty and very original What would you think about cropping just a tad off the bottom so that peach/gold spot isn't showing on the bottom? My eye keeps going there.
(5 years and 3171 days ago)I would have put the containers in front of the machine. Also the light is distracting. Try it without a flash. If that light is coming from another light source, try diffusing it by putting a sheet or t-shirt over it.
(5 years and 3171 days ago)I would have taken the container off the glass and figured a better way to showcase it. The glass is just weird.
(5 years and 3171 days ago)yeah, I agree with the others...the first thing I thought about was that she was getting ready for some hot action.
(5 years and 3171 days ago)In my opinion, you should try to reshoot this with a plain piece of paper under it...maybe in black or dark brown or something.
(5 years and 3171 days ago)beautiful! it does look relaxing .
(5 years and 3172 days ago)I would have turned the toilet around. Usually people don't get behind the toilet to pee in it
(5 years and 3172 days ago)very nice
(5 years and 3172 days ago)nice
(5 years and 3172 days ago)friiskiwi, yes Ansel Adams did more than landscapes but the theme description says landscape.
(5 years and 3172 days ago)LOVELY colors!
(5 years and 3174 days ago)I would also crop out the blown out highlights in the top... maybe just above the cars
(5 years and 3174 days ago)I like the signs in this... I say no cropping
(5 years and 3174 days ago)ahhhh, the life! I wish I could see this in color though.
(5 years and 3174 days ago)but if the light was centered underneath the battery, it probably won't look like it is floating then.
(5 years and 3174 days ago)I agree...very nice!
(5 years and 3174 days ago)in my opinion, it is almost pushed too far because it looks cartoonish
(5 years and 3174 days ago)hey, they said no street performers! lol just kidding
(5 years and 3175 days ago)wow, it's amazing the similarities! But they do look different...different guy, different clothes, and even different steps too because even though there is graffiti, the top of the steps are different.
(5 years and 3175 days ago)As far as the theme part of it goes, I think sometimes the theme descriptions can be so vague, so it is hard to tell what really can be on theme or not. And yeah, you're right about that last part about blurring it. I don't think that's what they had in mind (but I'm not in their mind ), but since it is not specific, I guess it's open. I do love this photo though, it stands out from ALL the rest of them in the contest!
(5 years and 3175 days ago)thanks for the explanation. I know how to do some of it, but I guess it was the light on the flower that I wasn't sure about. A snoot on the light is the honeycomb thing right?
(5 years and 3175 days ago)ah ha ho ho haa haa bbbbaaaaaaa baaa baaa. Love this! Great imagination! I was just thinking that it is odd that nobody put a picture of a real black sheep in this contest. wonderful wonderful wonderful!
